HI FROG.So you had the choice to turn it off and on then? But could the IFF antenae be removed by flight crew easily. You know, like plug it in, and plug it out, in the matter of seconds?A "quick change"sort of thing???I would like this on my plane but if it`s disputable by a judge,I`d not put it on.I understand this little mast was supposed to be made of a composite material(fiberglass), and left in its raw state( no paint). A signal interference issue perhaps???Again answer at your leisure.truly DAVID B.

no paint is right we had weak radar signal then and the paint would some how infer with the signal. the mast wasnt removable at least not on mine i think thier were a few that it could be removed but the removeing part i beleave was a "field test".

[image][/image] Hi "FROG" finally figured how to post a picture.blow these up for a better look. Could you tell me what the last 5-7 letters mean on the IFF antenae .I see now that its stensciled right on the IFF about, the no painting thing. It really has quite a large mounting base don`t it? The second pic I believe is an F4U-4 and it shows 2 things. first question was where the antenae wire entered the fuse was it a part that was used on the F4U-5,also, or was there a re-design on it?? same pic.in the top right inside corner of the star it looks like some sort of spring loaded door any idea what thats for.Just curious? talk to you later .THANKS DAVE B.

TO ALL.This is for the CORSAIR buffs.IT`S an F4U-4,lots of similarity`s to most of the other CORSAIRS, but many differences too,so do your HOMEWORK and make sure the info you use pertains to your plane, thats up to you.CAN`T remember where I got this, bumped into it again while looking for a picture.got lots of stuff like this.not very organized at the moment. Drop me a note if you`re looking for something in particular.A response if you like this sort of thing would be nice too.Let me know maybe I`ll put more up.PLEASE keep in mind if you can help me with what I`m looking for too, I would be gratefull. Thanks D.B it`s not taking my file hang on pls.[image][/image][image][/image][image][/image]

ORIGINAL: D Bronk repairing address

HI. folks please keep in mind i know I`m going off my own topic here, but would still like you to keep an EYE out for photos that I need for my project PLEASE!!Ihave a lot of links and literrature on all the BENT WINGERS`so please ask me for what you`re looking for and I can probably help a person out.I know you can kill alot of time on "HUNTING" DOWN INFO on this "BIRD" so don`t hesitate to ask!! I`ll be glad to help if I can do so.I`m going to start to put a few things on this thread that will please ALL CORSAIR builders and fans. http://www.jpsmodell.de/ GREAT site for figuring out your finish.either if you are mixing up your own paint or looking to find pre-made.You`ll find computer generated chips with codes so you can buy a small jar of paint to make your own color chip to match to.Beats purchasing a chip set that will only get used 1 or 2 times. This way you still have a jar of color,on hand, that can be used for small touch ups!! D.B.

.Trying to repair some adresses I messed up on earlier in the thread. This address should intrest all corsair fans.My concern is in regards to the tail-cone light as per an F4U-5 .ANY one know for a fact if this was carried fromversion to version or not???The blue print is of an F4U-1(not an XF4U-1)those two versions saw lots of production changes and deletions, between the two models.

AND an udder one.....
http://www.f4ucorsair.com/tdata/cockpit.htm

Got more like this if some one wants.Problem is it`s all in my crashed computer, and I hope it`s still there(got a new machine now)I have to get it booted again by the local PRO...D.B.
Still wondering about "FROG"????...D.B.
