ORIGINAL: The_Russian Help. I recently bought and built a RTF Hangar 9 PTS and flopped it on the runway too hard. The landing gear on the left side bent forward and broke the wood that it pokes in to. The actual aluminum did not bend, it actually just broke forward like it just "gave way". So, the only damage is in the center of the wing in the top portion of the gear mount. How can I fix this? Do I need to by a new wing? If I can fix it, how can I strengthen it? Also, what is the best tailwheel mod that can be performed. THe aircraft is quite squirrelly on the pavement. Thanks. You are going to have to perform surgery on the wing. Your best bet is to cut into the wing from the top side. You will see how to fix it from there. There are at least 100 posts, and countless pictures in this thread showing just how everything looks on the inside, and how best to put it all back together. Hate to say it, but get used to fixing landing gear blocks. As far as tail wheels, I say go with the Sullivan. Your best bet all together, start reading this thread from the beginning....there is a ton, and I mean a TON of usefull info.
