Weather here in kansas is pathetic... Wind was supposed to be fairly calm with light showers for tomarrow. That was yesterday mornings forcast for sunday. Last night it has changed agian to 25 -35 mph winds. I was all set to maiden a PTS, a .60 P51 and a larger sport plane. Guess its back to the old RC Ccar backup... AGIAN.

Which 60 sized p-51 do you have?
Just kidding on 50mph winds. Only about 20mph with gusts today. Maybe tomorrow but It is Mother's day and I am going to spend part of the day with her.
    HMMMM, bowling anyone? LOL

I got it off of ebay, sold as a H9 model, but its not. Best I can guess is that its a Nitro Models version. Some things I like better than the H9... Aaileron servo mounts are prebuilt and structural, rather than H9 having simple mount blocks, just like the PTS. But the firewall wasnt predrilled, the retract mounts have nearly no support, and all of the tires are WAY too small. Significantly smaller than the PTS even. The firewall part probably isnt that big of an issue to a seasoned builder, but I had a heck of a time setting everything lined up properly. If I get lucky enough to find a low in the wind I will have some pics ad video of it tomarrow.

There was a plane like that at our fun fly last week. The plane flew beautiful and it had a .75 Super Tiger in it. The guy was a seasoned pilot but could never land the thing right. It kept nosing over after touchdown and finally on the third flight, he broke one of the retracts off on a simple slow landing. He then offered to sell the complete package including the engine for the first $200 takes because he was so pissed off. Needless to say, no one took the offer. I was really tempted because it flew great but I didn't have the $200 bucks at the time. I cannot wait till by Byron P-51 is done.
    Gotta love those MUSTANGS HUH!!!??

Oh, yeah, he was smokin' mad. I tried to talk my buddy into it but if he bought another plane this month he thought that he might get a divorce and not have a place to live! Man, If I would have had the cash at the time I would have bought it even though I am not a big fan of Super Tiger engines.

    A 91???!!!!!! Wow.
Well I got really bored today, called a fellow club member that is selling a bunch of stuff and bought 2 more planes today. An edge 540 profile with the AXI motor and all of the stuff and horizon's new little extra 260 electric. Man, I would think that it is winter time with nothing to do. Got a great deal on all of the stuff but still wanted to throw up on my way home for spending all of that money.

    Help.

I recently bought and built a RTF Hangar 9 PTS and flopped it on the runway too hard. The landing gear on the left side bent forward and broke the wood that it pokes in to. The actual aluminum did not bend, it actually just broke forward like it just "gave way". So, the only damage is in the center of the wing in the top portion of the gear mount. How can I fix this? Do I need to by a new wing? If I can fix it, how can I strengthen it?

Also, what is the best tailwheel mod that can be performed. THe aircraft is quite squirrelly on the pavement.

    Thanks.

You are going to have to perform surgery on the wing. Your best bet is to cut into the wing from the top side. You will see how to fix it from there. There are at least 100 posts, and countless pictures in this thread showing just how everything looks on the inside, and how best to put it all back together. Hate to say it, but get used to fixing landing gear blocks.

As far as tail wheels, I say go with the Sullivan. Your best bet all together, start reading this thread from the beginning....there is a ton, and I mean a TON of usefull info.
