    Hiya Wld,
if you used canopy glue or if its the assembled pts, use a dull knife, like the wifes butter knife (don't tell her, just use it , wash it and put it back..trust me on that part ), slide it under the edge and slowly pull it along. The canopy glue is similar to silicone and white glue mixed together.
If you used sillycone, might need something a little sharper because it flexs and sticks more than canopy glue & needs to be cut usually, just go slow.

Jeff...hot? sure is here, yesterday 90 & today 'posed to be 95...its our 1 week of real summer, rain just around the corner I'm sure

    TGIF all !

And, if you used thick CA, YOUR SCREWED!
CCR is right. A dull butter knife is the way to go when dealing with canopy glue. When assembling a model it is great stuff to use on areas that might need to come off later but is still very strong and no Gforces will rip your part off.
As far as the P factor goes, CCr is right AGAIN (he's always right - don't argue with him LOLOLOL) Just learn to give right pressure to the rudder and you will get it very soon. The second step after getting proficient at flying is to force yourself to learn to fly with the rudder. Not only does it make your turns better and look more scale like, you can turn sharper without banking your wings alot so there is less chance at a tip stall. Using rudder proficiently also helps you keep the plane on a straight line thoughout manuvers and with the runway. And, of course it is really fun to know how to do! Using a simulator a few times a week to practice this helps emensely. Pretty soon, you will be using rudder all of the time without even knowing that you are! I am trying to teach my dad how to fly and he has a 3 channel plane and I am finding that HUH, the left stick doesn't include rudder - in some ways it is harder to fly than a 4 channel plane.
My son found out what that P-factor was in a big way a couple of weeks ago. He gave his nextstar throttle and of course it veered left, He compensated by giving it right rudder - But TOO MUCH and the plane groud looped on him on takeoff ripping the rear landing gear out of the plane. The plane was just sitting there and the engine was still running at about 10k I said shut it down, shut it down! and he did. Later I told him that when he gets into trouble to always just back off the throttle - that is your bailout and he said "I did" I said, HMMMMM, why was the engine running at 10K after the incident? He said OK, Dad - I hate it when you are right!
    Sorry for the long post,
    Jeff

Jeff, your too nice, please talk to Wendy and tell her that I'm usually wrong, but have moments of greatness (in my own mind )

Its wierd probably, but my favorite moments are nailing that t/o, straight (ish ) line down the field, and keeping a little rudder, tweaking the roll as she climbs out, in line with the runnway.
Only thing better, is nailing a two point landing after a really nice final...nothing prettier, no matter who is doing it.

The quiet days, when I'm not holding anyone up, I'll just do the pattern and shoot take offs and landings for a couple tanks...Crosswinds!!!!
..........wellllllll, we're still working on the pretty part

Breaking in a Saito 56. It really does have a great sound, even running super rich and spewing fuel everywhere.
Speaking of Saito, found a nice site. Just be carefully with some of the break in settings mentioned, they apply to the larger Saito's
( 4 turns out on high speed, 56 manual is 2-1/2, other than that, good info! Saito help

    * Wait till you have your 1st retract equip'd a/c, tail dragger, or something with a more scale gear set up, right near the cg.
Now you'll be juggling the rudder and the elevator! I love it ..... except for the occasional nose over...whoops :- )

Saitos have a unique and great sound no matter what size that they are. I would like to stick one in my mustang. I have a OS 70 surpass in my revolver that I would use but I don't want to sacrifice my top end speed!
Yes, It is really hot here. Probably going to push 100 today. Almost too hot to fly. Planes don't really fly as well in really hot weather - can anyone say "density altitude?" Helis are really suseptical to it.
Yes nailing the straight line finish with a two pointer is very beautiful. I have found the best way to practice is to download an IMAC scedule and practice it untill your fingers bleed. If a guy nails that, He looks really good at the club or anywhere he flys. It also teaches a pilot to use the rudder to keep the plane on track always.
Your wife is a real sweetheart and she probably isn't as hard on you as you have posted but it is always fun to To make people believe that wives are like that!!! LOL OK, the next time I see her I'll tell her that you are of great importance and are a scholar in everything you do! Do you think that she will believe me??? LOL
    Man, this is fun!

Along the heat thought process.. I flew the sons Supercub a few days ago, it was close to 100 out. Usually I get about 20 minutes of flight time if Im conservative with it. But that day the thermals were nuts!! I killed the throttle when I hit one and let the controls go. I almost lost the ting because it climbed so high. It held a gentle bank and kept climbing for what seemed to be forever. I glided around for a LONG time untill I was tired of looking strait up. Once I landed I looked at my timer.... 74 minutes! I had no idea that so much time had passed, but whats better.. the battery still had enough juice to fly agian for 10 minutes. Heat is bad, sometimes!

Yes smoore, In the event of thermals, heat is great. I used to fly gliders all of the time and when the ground was heating up in the morning -WOW it sometimes was awesome. But, high humidity coupled with high heat in the ground and in the air was what I was talking about earlier. I does affect our little planes a bit but not as bad as the real ones. Especially at a higher altitude such as in the mountains. I can get alot more performance in the summer with my mustang in the early morning hours than in the afternoon when it is really hot too.
What really sucks is that it is supposed to be up to 108 degrees this weekend. Oh, well I am just going to work instead.
CCR, thanks for the video link! Something new is always great.
    Jeff

Thanks CCR I haven't found the "right" pilot yet - I was hoping I could install the pilot from below - but I didn't think it would work . I get the butter knife now and hide it in my shop...lol

I bet that hellcat with the right motor is really fast. It looks like it would be fun to fly and not very many people have them.
Yeehaw smoore! Fly it like you stole it!
