Great planes mfg. raised some of their prices too. BUT ONLY ABOUT 10-20 BUCKS PER PLANE!!! I have nothing but respect for hanger 9 products but this is TOTALLY RIDICULAS!!!! Doesn't look like I will be buying from them anytime in the near or far future wich makes me upset because I like their products so much.
    CCR,
Check out the cessna forum, I put some vids of my bird in there.

I'm not one to 'stir the pot', but I've read on several threads about how 'upset' everyone is at Horizon right now. So, if you would, indulge me on this.
As best as I can remember, the PTS ARF had been less than $120.00 from the time that it was first offered. (over a year ago) In the mean time, every other dist./mfg. had been slowly hedging their prices over the same time period. Yes, lots of folks complained about that too. Recently folks have complained about Tower's offerings going up $20.00 - $40.00 or more. Admittedly, gradually raising prices is a little easier to take. Horizon seemed to hold the line as long as they could before raising theirs. That's just the way that it strikes me. I'm neither condeming nor condoning their decision.
I don't like to pay higher prices any more that the next guy, but higher prices are a part of everything. Milk is over three bucks a gallon....what was it last year at this time? Alot of things effect prices, and the bottom line is that Horizon will price their offerings so that they can maintain a profit and continue to employ their workers and offer them benifits.
I guess that the bottom line for me is this. Will I continue to buy from HH? I'm sure that I will. I've been satisfied with what I've gotten from them. After all, this is only a hobby for me. I do enjoy it, but it is a hobby. If planes cost twice what they do now, I'll only have half as many planes.

    I'm done stirring............Cheers! BH

    Bounty hunter,
Very well put. I do respect what you have written.
Yeah, for the price that they are charging for the PTS mustang at the moment, I would probably spend the 50 bucks more and get the miss america 60 sized version. I have always wanted that plane. I was just so ticked off the last post that I started typing before my brain caught up!! I will buy from Horizon again but don't know when. Don't get me wrong on the previous couple of posts that I wrote - I really do like Horizon, their service, their employees and especially their planes. I just don't know if I want to spend that much for a 40 sized plane anymore even though it flys beautifly. This might affect our younger gerneration pilots who want this a/c because they might not be able to afford it now and have to go to something considerably cheaper. I did notice that they really dropped the price for the raptor though. HMMMM, I wonder why? Maybe cause they might be discontinuing it or the sales are down.
I am kindof at limbo right now on what to do next, I was going to buy another pts p-51 this fall and re-build the old one that I have into another color sceme but probably won't do that now. Just re-build the old one and complete the Byron p-51 that I already have.

Well, looks like it'll be longer than I thought before I buy a new ARF from Horizon . To rich for my blood right now.

On a lighter note, if anyone that reads this thread will be in/around/anywhere near Fayetteville, NC on the 11th of October for our fun fly, feel free to stop in and enjoy the fun. You can visit our webpage here for more information. Sorry, had to put that pitch in, I'm done with my advertisement now, just figured I'd throw it out there so people that don't frequent the events forum can at least know it's coming up.

    Later guys.

i'm looking at the hanger 9 corsair 60, may try a top flite kit, find out if i have any builing skills, LHS has the fs one sim, same as mine, the mustang flies the same it's just when you try and land you'd think it's a high wing, glides forever, i love this plane, which is kind of a problem, get too wrapped up watching i forget to fly and i want a back up too for when the "just in case" happens, but still want a corsair, b25, p40, maybe a zero, santa claus you listening?

I saw the $220.00 for the PTS P-51. Then I looked at the PTS that I have. the PTS is not worth $220.00. I got mine for $119.00 and I thought it was a great plane for the money. but it is no way werth $220.00. Now that is the way I see it.

Now I have heard that they did a lot of changes on the plane, (I do not know if this is true or not.) but I heard that they made it so retracs can be put in it. and the wing is a lot stronger. We will know when it come in. but if they did this. Well thin it mite be werth more but I still think that $220.00 is to much for it. Plz do not get me wrong. I love the plane but not that much

    Gang,

I've checked Hangar-9's website and even re-downloaded the manual. There is nothing there that says any changes were made. The manual is still from 2005. So if they did change something, they arent saying anything. Which would strike me as odd. You dont raise the price almost 95% (I paid 119 for mine just a few months ago from a hobby store) and not mention if there are updates, if that is the reason.

So I would guess it is the same plane. If that is the case, that kind of price jump is unacceptable in my opinion. Another thing that is strange. The wing kit used to be priced as close to the cost of the whole kit. Now it is little more than half. So that didnt really go up much.

If there really arent any changes, which right now that appears to be the case, then they are charging that much more because they feel that they can and people will still buy it.

I understand the cost of everything has gone up, but this is a little drastic.

A few upgrades to the plane would be nice.. better landing gear mounting, and a glassed firewall. but I cant see much need for wing work beyond that. I dont like the weakness in the wing saddle area.

I agree with the feeling that the PTS isnt quite worth $210. I am very happy paying $120 for it, but again.. $65 for a wing set was pathetic, as is the $95 price tag on the fuselage. At the $210 price point, the repair parts are a little more in line however. I cant check right now, but I would bet the parts prices went up as well, blowing that whole thought out of the water.
