This may have been addressed in an earlier post. Sorry if this is repetitive. I have my RCV 120 mounted in a Great Plains model Super Stearman. I've used a Williams Brothers radial engine, with plenty of venting in the cowl. Running the engine rich and put about 10 minutes running time on it. Also using appropriate fuel recommendations. What do you recommend as far as any total break-in time before safe to put the engine in the air. Thanks so much.

Hi Mark

I don't believe this has been addressed before and it is a good question.

We would recommend running the engine in for 1-2 hours before putting it in the air. During the run in the engine will become smoother and more powerful. This will also give you a chance to get used to the engine and set the carburettor up correctly. Secondly we generally recommend running the engine in on a solid test stand rather than in the plane, as the engine vibration levels are higher during run in.

I hope this helps, if you have any more queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards
Laurenne
