Most of my issues on the Funtana deal with weight. It is too heavy. Also, the landing gear is too light, and the tailwheel is bad and too light, the tail braces break everytime you fly it and the servo mounts for the ailerons are weak. The plane is impossible to land smoothly, or at all for some people with the CG at the manual recommendations. It can be made to fly well, I'm told with a great big engine and modifying or replacing all the above. You add hundreds of dollars to the plane. I had over 40 flights on my and hated it as much on the last one as I did the first one. To me it was a lousy plane. The best day I ever had with it was when I gave it away to a fellow club member. Now, on to better things, the Showtime. I think I'll like this plane,
Thanks,
Barry

Cheers for your frank account. The CoG was reputedly incorrect in the manual. From what I gather, some are now using a CoG about 1" further forward. I have heard several other reports of fragile landing gear. Looking at the videos though, it seems to do the business though?

The Showtime certainly looks stunning - the trim is arguably better than the Funtana's. From a flying point of view, I suppose it's hopeless trying to predict how it will compare to the Funtana - but I'd like to know if this Showtime 4D would be any good for someone like me wanting to learn 3D. My previous aerobatic planes didn't really have the vertical performance for true 3D stuff, but my next project certainly will.......

The wing area on the Showtime is noticeably less than the Funtana's - 200 sq inches! Weight-wise, I didn't think there was much in it - engines aside for a moment. Hangar 9 state a very similar weight for both the the F90 and the Showtime. What's the actual difference between just the box stock airframes?

I'll be following this thread with interest. I think I'm interested enough in the Showtime to hold onto my cash until I can make my mind up between them!

I've never flown an F3A - only low wingers and an Edge 540. How do they compare - and are they much harder to fly?

I think they do the best rolling harriers. even better than the F90 and that is the best thing i can say about the F90. but on high rates since they have stubby wings compared to the fuse. they will roll unbelievable (truly blinding) I cant speak for the showtime yet as i dont have it yet.. OH yea High alpha KE is great on the what ive flown. also elevators and waterfalls... if this plane flies anything like my fliton jumping jack(also F3A/artistic) i WILL order a backup no questions

drumbum, Mine is at Horizon Hobbies 2000 miles away. I wish I had a hobby store that stocked some of this stuff. Horizon said they will ship mine today, but it'll be next Monday before I get it.
Can you let me know your opinion on the underside. Is it a lot different from the top? Dilled told the colors, can you tell if it'll be easy to see the difference in the air?
Good luck with your build. I look forward to some flight reports on this baby.
Thanks,
Barry

I'm past oozed, I'm totally geeked! My LHS called and said the plane came in today, now it is sitting in my room awaiting.........looks very nice upon first inspection. The final sanding before covering is not as smooth as my H9 Alitalia CAP, but that bird was like glass. Very nice however, great looking COMPLETE hardware. Very anxious to get this one in the air! Congrats H9 and Mike McConville, another winner!
