Hi guys

Well after looking at 5 different mech gear door system ithink the system dion in the royal thread looks to be the most practical. I have saved all of the pic's ito a file for my use but have had trouble saving his written comments. Anyway I have to thank Corsair jock and Dion (luke) for providing us with a lot of modes that can be incorperated into a T/F G/S Corsair with out redesigning the whole thing as long as your planning stand off or sport scale. I have learned alot from there threads

will post pic's as I go

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if this kit is listed for sale, and in stock on the internet anywhere?
My LHS doesn't seem to be interested in ordering one for me, and Tower lists them as Discontinued!
I would like to join this build, but can't get ahold of a kit.

thanks,
Darrell B.

Bob T

I have a question for any one with the expertice, I am putting barn door and strut doors on this build, I am using Dion's system to operate. ( Royal 60 corsair thread) That said hears ware I am stumped, sheeted the lower surface to get the contures and laid out doors. momocoated the area, but the lines did not transfer... any sugestion?? I was planning on making a plaster mold on the monocote, and then laying up the doors in the molds...

I would draw the doors on the fully skinned wing. Then cover with transparent monokote and lay up the heavy fiberglass right on the monokote. Once cured you should be able to transfer the lines through the glass before you pop it off. I saw this method in a Dave Platt video. Seems like a good way to do it.

Scott.

The idea is that the door will be an exact match to the under wing form. When you cut out the door and the wing skin it will be just about perfect.

Here is a link to Dave Platt's video page. The video with this in it is BF-2 according to the list.

Ctflyboy In as much as you have been following this thread, if look at the pic's posted you will see a lot of lighting holes in the tail fethers and wheel group, by doing this you will save about 1 1/2 lbs or more in the nose later.

please post pic's and I D the good and bad, are you adding of the mods available besides the canapy?

Rt3232,
I have a G62 in the box,
I'll give you a rundown on what I have and plan to do.
Robart # 148 & 160 (tailwheel) Stan's fiberglass cowl with cowl flaps, cockpit interior kit.
I plan on fiberglassing with 3/4 ounce glass with thinned epoxy, Panel Lines & Rivets As you know a Sliding Canopy, painting of course, in the French Navy colors from the 1956 Suez Canal campaign.
That pretty much covers it.
George

Thanks again for heads up on the platt vido's and what I saw is about what I had in mind except the first lay up for me it would be easier to make if from plaster of paris.

again Thanks for your comments

Bob T

PS I will be posting pic's in the next week or so how ever it goes...

Ctflyboy
Be sure to use corsairjocks wing tip, and rudder mod as they are vary easy to do and helps keep the hardscale guys at bey Outher wise I would suggest at least reading Dionysusbacchus's thread at least first 15 pages a lot more info than I can give you.
I have custom muffler with side exhust exets (not scalt) but it would not be hard to use Dion's ideas..

Bob T

Post pics and let us know how you are comming

I have seen them advertised in the Tower Talk Magazine, and in the Tower add in Fly RC. I keyed in the add numbers into their search box on their website and it always comes up discontinued. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
Makes you wonder if the left hand knows what the right is doing.
