Winston, no one that I know of has a really accurate set of plans for this . Maybe because of the wide variety of kits/plans out there it would difficult to adapt because of the different main spar and airfoil designs. The fundamental geometry remains the same , it just has to be adapted to what ever kit/plan you are using.
I was using the Brian Taylor 82" version and shared what I had learned from that with Chris and he has adapted that info to make the modification on his TopFlight version. It just takes a LOT of homework and patience .

Hi Gary
I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow. My digital camera can shoot video, but it's quicktime, and I'll have to convert it to WMA or something to post it. At least I think I do.
Sam

Downloaded some freeware, here is the link to the vid clip: G62 with Keleo Custom Corsair Exhaust

The tach reading was 6750, and I tried a Mejzlic 22x10 CF for comparison and it was 6750. I can't see how, with as much exit area and expansion chamber size, this exhaust could possibly be restrictive.

Winston,

I am planking the fuse on my 1/4 scale Corsair and after that is done with the fin and stab I'll be doing the wing. I want to make the wings fold. Where is pappy 883's thread on making the system with the Oregon Aviations Wingman device? I would like as many pictures of how him and cdohoney are doing it from start to finish. Are you going back in and making yours folding?

Thanks,

Barry

Barry i think this is it http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4982309/anchors_7181503/mpage_10/key_/anchor/tm.htm#7181503 > no i dont think i will . way over my skill level wouldnt know how to figure the geometry for such a system or how to calculate the loads on the hinges and pins to make one that wont fall off .
Ordered the don smith kit the other week from Dino should get it in a month i hope and was placed on the list for the gear from serria about a month ago

Good job on the video, the way it was pulling I thought you were gong to maiden the test bench.

I like the sound, dont know what it cost, but you got your moneys worth especially with the stacks exiting in a scale location.

Forgot to mention in the PM the other day congrats on the 26 years.

Joe (pappy883),

Finally got the Wingman programmed properly! Had to consult with Buz from OSA, I was setting the endpoint wrong. Works great now. I need to tighten up the linkage for the left wing a bit, there is some down slop at the top of the fold. The right wing is good. Do you have any slop at the top of your fold or is it fairly rigid? Also finished up the top of the fuse. I think I'll complete the fuse so I can use it to finish the belly pan and position the flaps on the wing.

Chris, there is a slight bit of slop but it shouldn't be excessive. Make sure that all the holes are drilled with precision and all pins/bolts are tight . If they are it could be the mechanical advantage of the arm that pushes the rod that is attached to the main spar. When in the full up position this arm needs to be close to the bottom of the wing rib . This will create a sort of triangle from three points , the upper hinge pin, the rod attachment point at the main spar , and the rod at the bottom of the rib. If the geometry is right the wing panel shouldnt flop much. Also I would make a stop so that the wings won't hit each other when the linkage is disconnected. Send pics of the linkage if youre still having problems.

Here's a little mod to give your oleo struts more travel and it enables you to use a 5 1/4 " dia. wheel that will clear the main spar when retracted. Just grind a little off the scissors stop and it will increase the travel by 1/2" be careful not to grind to much or the scissors will lock out straight.

I framed the crutch as per instructions, trimming the right side to match the angle of the crutch top, but when the pieces were pinned to the plan, the pront of the crutch does not line up with the drawings, the crutch top is at a different angle (see photo). Has anyone else encoutner this and is it a concern? I have also uploaded a video of my fold mockup...still some experimentation and tweaking but so far so good. Here's the link Top Flite Giant Corsair Folding Wing
