Good work...

One way to get accurate latex locally is to take a color chip book, similar to the one Frank Tiano sells to Home Depot and have them use their color analyser.

It electronically 'looks' at the chip and creates a custom color profile that the staff can mix.

Thats not to say Warbird Colors isn't a good idea, just another option.

Cheers

Goose

Bob,

I tested with the gear switch on the RX but will eventually be sequenced with Oregon Scale Aviation's MicroGear Ultra sequencer. I am planning on actuating the main doors with servos as well. Oregon Scale Aviation - MicorGear Utra The sequencer will sequence the door servos and the valve servos for the air retracts. Microswitches will be used to make sure the gear cannot lower unless all doors are down.

Sorry,I haven't read thru all of this post. What is the largest engine that has been used on one of these kits?I was gonna build a ziroli with a da-85 and I was thinkin I might should start out a little smaller for my first warbird,I've been mostly flyin 3d.I don't want to go overboard with my first one.So I guess I'm askin will this airframe hold up to the da85 and has it been done.I would think prop clearance would be an issue also. Thanks,Mike

cdohaney I've been using a Jomar sequencer in my B-25 and am very pleased with how it will open the gear doors then the air valve. You can also set the delay between the gear doors and the time it activates the air valve. you mite want to check out one to see if it will do what you are wanting to do.

Lastresort, I was planning on using the DA 85 also. Holding the motor up to the cowl I now see the cylinder head is going to be outside of the cowl. Looks like at least a 1 1/2" of the head will show. Not sure if this will influence your decision or not. My reason for wanting to use the 85 was to swing a large 3 or 4 blade prop for more scale appearance. I still havent decided whether to stick with the 85 or drop back to the 50.

NEED RESEARCH INFO

Does anyone have any photos of a full scale with any sort of a chin cowl or extension in the 6 oclock position on the corsair cowl.
I looked at several sites and photos of corsairs and have not been able to find any scale photos that would support an addition to the bottom of the cowl to cover up a protruding cylinder head.

Thanks Gary

Hey Gary...

If i understand you, you are looking to hide the engine in the cowl somehow... I have lots of pix, is this it?

Cheers

Goose

I think you mean the F4U-4. It had the chin scoop.

Goose and Pappy, thanks for both of your suggestions, sometimes you just gotta reach out to get the right answer to work thru a problem.

I must have lost my subscripton to the thread, haven't heard anything in a few weeks. You guys have been busy form what I see. I've been busy too. Today I checked the CG with everything basically installed temporary.

Looks like I'm going to need about 1.5-2 lbs of lead in the nose to get to 5 and 1/4 inches back from the LE at the fuse, is that normal? That'll put my all up weight at 29.5 lbs. Is that weignt in the ball park?

Thanks

Todd

Hi Todd

At 29.5 it will be a fine flyer my corsair is about the same 29+ and it flys great vary predictable with no bad habits, it will snap to the left if you get real slow wirh the nose up a bit, but vary managable with rudder and power.
