Thanks, Bob. I can always count on an encouraging word from you Here's one more pic, because I had to move the position of the inner hinge on the center flap section. Should be self explanatory. In addition to lining it up, I had to recess the hinge to about surface level in order to get the rotation right. I'll post the results later.

Sam

With all the out line change's info and mode's I have saved when I build my next corsair I might be able to get a good representation and it is mostly do to you and all of the outhers modelers skills that make it work. (after I finish the 47)

And thanks for the pic's they are worth a lot of words

Bob T

PS. Keep up the good work

Thanks Bob. I've glued the center hinges now and even with all the prep work, I'm still tweaking the slots. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with the linkage, and may substitute carbon fiber pushrods with ball links to tighten it up. I'll post some progress later on.
Thanks for the kind words, I feel the same way towards all the talent on this and other builds. The internet really does allow us to do a "group build", and try stuff that I would not even attempt to do if I did not have access to others' skills via the web.

Here's a link to a quick video of the left flap sections in action.

I just checked the linkages, and the one control rod to the working flaps is already bent. I think this must have happened as I was moving the flap through its range of motion and the servo was off. Anyway, that's enough to make me switch first to a carbon fiber pushrod, and then most likely to the metal gear 645 servo. Sorry of the breifness of the video, but I couldn't figure out how many times to move the flaps up and down before turning it off, so I just did it a couple of times.

Hi Sam,

What video editor do you use to insert the nice title page and ending page?

Hi Tom,
I'll tell you that if you tell me how you made that fantastic flap joiner that even has the ribs on it! Just kiddin'. I used the "Windows Movie Maker" that came with my Windows XP software. My digital camera makes quicktime movies, and I have to convert them (I use "Bink and Smacker" freeware) to MPEG 4, then the MovieMaker software can add the titles. I'd like to mess around with adding music and stuff, but there are only so many hours in the day, and my tail kit is on the way!
Hope that helps,
Sam

Fair deal. I used 1/32 G-10 with some little bits of stryrene strip CA'd to it to make my ribbed joiners.

Bob,

I set my stab incidence at +1 1/4 degrees as per the plans. 2 degrees seemed to much. Heres how the angle on the incedence meter looks. What did you set your TF Giant stab incidence? I hope you guy's don't mind me butting in on you TF builds. But after all it is a Corsair.

Hi Barry

If your pic's are right it looks like you have negitive 11/4 not positive note: positive = the leading edge is up from the hinge line, But with out being there it is realy hard to say your off . But the alignment is vary critical, so if you have any doughts lay it out on a plain piece of papper away from the plans so you have it stright.

I hope some of the outher builders have a look and come in hear.

I was over in your thread and I think not gluing the tail fethers in till you have all the parts is a good plan, and what you have so far look great
