Winston
From the pic's that looks about the right size for NCIS's bird .
Guys
OK Did sime more checking in the flaps, I riged a dig pocket fosh scale with a T bar thing to pull on the flaps not to fancy, but I did get some numbers. bat is a 5cel 2400 mah nihm static voltage full charge reads 6.38
Half flap static .1 with 2lbs of pull 1.1 volt drop .2, and at full flap static .95 and with 2 lb pull 1.95 volt drop .38, when I cycle the flaps I get #s both above and below what I have posted, and if I pull more the numbers do not seam to go up much about .2 amp max, checked a single servo vice mounted and just a string loop to hook the scale in (static readings were less than half .o2) what is in the wing, Half Flap with 2lbs pull about .55, full flap at 2lbs about .7 to 1.8 at 6lbs pull
I am not to sure how this all fits together yet, but I think as long as the servo are not heating up I am good to go, But would like some outher opinion's

Gents,
Been away fromt he thread for a while. Been working on the Corsair. I plan a maiden for Sunday June 22nd. I am now balancing and am shooting for the 5 and 1/4 inches behind the leading edge and I already added over a pound to the cowl. Question is are we including the oil cooler inlets as part of the leading edge or start the measurement at the flat part of the wing just behind the cooler inlets?
Seems we could be off 1/4 inch one way or another depending on how the oil cooler inlets are mounted on a particular bird.
Okay well I have embarked on building this kit, I have had it in my basement for a while and decided to get going on it. I have the retracts, the rims and the tires. Mine is NOT going to be a warbird however and I do not plan a lot of scale detailing except for panel lines and rivets, a cockpit with a pilot and that is pretty much it. Canopy will be fixed, no nav lights or that kind of stuff. It is going to be completed like a reno racer that was sponsored by the goodyear tire and rubber compnay and will be painted (or covered in monokote) in yellow and blue like the attached photos. Wish me luck, I already have the Horizontal stabilizer done, took me a couple of hours to build it, took the liberties of filling the frame work with lightening holes as all reports on this kit have suggested it comes out tail heavy and some people have had to add up to 3 pounds of nose weight. I hope to avoid that issue all together. Rudder, Elevators, V Stab and Hor Stab will be filled with lightening holes, like so many have done before me. Also most formers and large panels of ply or balsa will be filled with lightening holes as well, especially near the tail. I am planning a DA85 for an engine as I want this to be a bit of a hot rod, my issue will come into play when I have to find a way to quiet down the engine and keep the mufflers inside the cowl. Wish me luck!

Todd
My 2 pennys I would not add any weight to the cowl it self as vibration will give it fits, /there is a cavaty between the backside of the firewall and F-3Cthat can be reinforced and makes a hidden spot for the weight,
And I did measure from the vary fwd part of the leading edge for the 5 1/4 C/G point

Bob, Thanks for the info.
Good call on the weight location. I'll look at the cavity behind the firewall for weight additions. Just to clatify, did you use measure the CG with or without the oil cooler inlets on the leading edge?
From what I read I'd say no but I just wnat to clarify.
