Whats up,
I love my nitro tc3 but the engine is way underpowered. I was looking at a new one from O.S. but was not sure which one would fit. I race my car so I need something ROAR or IFMAR legal.
Thanks

Does anybody know what's up with the " aluminum rear suspension parts"? I bought my NTC3 from a guy and he gave me aluminum upper and lower a arms for the front and what he says is the rear..I can't figure out how these could possibly be for the rear. Check out the pics below, if you aren't siure what I mean.

View of the rear:

and view of the front with the new a arms installed. As you can see, they look almost exactly the same as the ones that are supposed to be for the rears.

hey guys... im new to on-road but i picked up a used tc3 last night that im going to spend a good amount of cash on...

im wonding what i might need to stay away from if im planning on racing thic car... it has a ae.15 that has a broken pull start. should i convert it to a box start? i have a box for my gt and i was told it would start the same car...

it also has a large foam bumper. what are your opinions on the rpm front bumpers?

any other suggestions would be awsome.

thanks,
-rob

ps. is the body 200mm or a 190?

if you are going to race i would get foam tires i would change the engine and converting it to box start is a good idea. change the radio equipment (radio receiver servos) get a fail safe get an aluminum steering servo arm (at the track my plastic ones striped) buy lots of extra parts like a arms screws - prepare for the worst at the track the worst thing is when you have to go home early because you don't have the part that broke.

Hi,

I am looking at possibly getting into a TC3 either RTR or the Kit. I plan to use in the parking lots for fun and take to the track here and there and at least practice and maybe run some races down the road with it. So it will be setup as an Outlaw for local use and fun of course. I would like to eventually get something along the lines of a hot OS .18tz in it and really waking it up and any other hop ups to help in the handling dept would be good. So I guess my question is while the kit comes with some hop ups already but no motor to at least get you going and many of the basics....And my intention is to fairly soon hop it up, does it make sense to buy the RTR based on it's a complete car and just change out the motor and electronics, add the CV axles and so forth as I go...Or does the kit car really seem to be a jump ahead right of the bat by it containing all these peices installed and I should just go with it and build it up from the start?

I do agree that sometimes buying and rtr and getting used to the basic power it comes with and the stock motor is a good idea before you build a powerhouse to start off with.

Just looking for suggestions in ways to get into onroad and my project for what I want to do.

Thanks for the help

Well, I always recommend going with the kit because you learn alot about the car while building it...so you can spend less time scratching your head whebn something goes wrong with it..I am running the OS .18 TZ and I can barely keep it under control!! Slides out on hard start and even when it shifts into second gear..One of the best motors I've ever had!!

Yeah I know the differenc between better cars for racing and the ones to go with for straight line accelertaion and top end for parking lots. I guess I would like a bit of both as I will use the car for fun use in parking lots and would like to do some track driving and want a car that is stable and can handle. But would like this car to be a little overpowered and basically fly for my fun use. I know a .18TZ from what I read and the specs I see would make any 1/10 scale care a bit overpowered, but that is what I want in some respects. I know i will have my hands full at the track however. Maybe I will just limit throttle there lol

So it sounds like the .18TZ in a TC3 more than rivals the fun crazy power factory of a go fast parking lot car Traxxas 4-tec or may come close to a Schumacher Fusion .28 in which I have been looking hard at as well, but I know for track use it won't quite be there as well as a better car.

I take it you have the kit? Anything I might need besides the Radio gear, motor and wheels/tires as compared to the RTR? Will that hipo pip that comes in the kit work with the .18TZ or unlease it's potential? Also do I have to then run a starter box with the .18TZ motor or does OS or anyone make a backplate to allow shaft start? Just thinks I am considering before the purchase.

Thanks for the info

The OS 18TZ probably rivals alot of engines out there for these cars. It's ridiculously fast!! I actually am using a pull start for mine, but i'm sure it can be converted to be used with a starter box. I'm fairly new to all of this on road car stuff. I just bought it from the guy (already built) because I found it to be a screaming deal and couldn't pass it up. I've been into monster trucks for years and have built them from kits. I like it simply because I get familiarized with it as I build. I would think it would be the same way with cars...For example, when I need to change the brakes on my truck, I know exactly what I need to do. To change the brakes on my car could be a different story because I'm not completely sure what screws need to come out and what screws don't need to come out...you know what I mean? Anyway, I highly recommend the OS engine though. I run airboats as well, and they both have OS .46FX engines on them. I have had them for about 7 years and they still run strong...

Anyone know a good place to find a Nitro TC3 kit at? Nobody locally has them in stock and alot of online places are also out of them. What a job to find this thing.

Thanks
