thought Id add My 2 cents, I have had three flatout, first on was the CRAP 580, the wing folded ad 150 feet and she spiraled in, lessons learned, High G and 3-D dont mix, other lesson learned the cap is of poor design compared to the other flatouts, not including the extra which uses the same stupid wing setup, I rebuilt the cap as a midwing plane, much better flying, finally meets its end, then I got a flatana, and loved it, parily durable in light low altitude hits, like dupming it from a hover when I was learning, anyway eventually I worse through that and it taught me alot of 3-D, well then I got a radix from ultrafly, great great plane, very light, cant take much of a hit, but held up well till i lost it and recovered about 2 feet to low and kinda hit flat, like a three point landing, but hard and destroyed it slightly, so now I just got the turmoil, and its the first time i have the hinges breaking problem, solved in by cutting the slots a little bigger so theyd spread open less when going on or off, problem solved, worked great, go in one flight tonight in my street, great plane, flies around nice in a harrier position, and flies good at about half throttle in normal flight, I have a rimfire and bl-8, 3 cell 640mah lipo, hitech elcipse 7 tx, with a futaba micro rx the 114 i believe, thgat uses the standard plugs, also useing the included 10-3.5 prop, which works very well with the combo i have. I am putting bigger wheels on the main gear though, i believe the stockc ones are what leed to alot of breaking and prop strikes, cuz I land and the tips up cuz the streets a little rough for a 1inch wheel to roll on decently...

Had 2 Flatana's and no problems with the supplied hardware. Very happy for that.

Ya, thats one thing I have noticed is the landing gear spreads apart too easily upon landing. Even sitting there I push it forward and it will slowly spread apart.

Bought and built a Edge 540 Reb Bull Flat Out, had about 50 flights in it, and 1 roll of clear tape doing repairs.

It flew good no bad tendencies, good hover and all, but....... Now Ive got a brand new Rc Universe Bipe and being the second flat out built, everithing came out right in about 2 nights of building.

Flying is a lot of fun, will hover, knife edge, roll and everything else better than the monoplanes, the two wings make for a much better and sturdy wing configuration (no bending).

Tomorrow I will begin practicing, sweeping the grass with the rudder.... Lots of fun for the price. Get one!!!

I will not buy another flatout. I had the Reflection. My expections were for a more durable better flying plane than the typical foamy out there. What I learned is a free plan, blue foam plane can be alot better than a flatout. JW Yak!!!

After breaking a couple of the hinges I removed some of the plastic to make a V shape so the hinge would spread better and it worked. Also had to drill the Z bend parts to get the CF rod in without breaking them (Broke two)

IMHO
Pete

Wanted to reitterate this to those having problems with the hinges. I also trimmed the opening of the C clips a bit with the #11 blade and the hinges went on a whole lot better. It makes it a lot easier and they don't break, and if you have to pull them off, they come off nice, but they don't come off when you don't want them off.

Don't over do it, just trim a touch off the inside upper and lower lip on the opening of the C.

I just built the flatana. Took the weekend to build. Didnt break any clips and instructions were fine. The plane is very straight and true.I didnt like the diagonal reinforments on the top of fuse.Took like an hour to shape and glue on and then it looks goofy.Wish I hadnt even put them on.Im waiting for the correct battery but centered servos with another.Ailerons, elevator, rudder are perfectly matched. This is my 2nd plane Ive built.1st was a Funforce Zero. Plane looks very cool and I hope it flies the same. Its already been said but for $20 (considering u get a motor, gearbox and prop) i think its an excellent deal.So far I am very satisfied with the build but it did take a long time.Bout 15 hours.

i just built the turmoil and flew it yesterday. flew fantastic. i have a tb 18 controller ( i now its heavy) had a himax 2808-980 but i burned it up and it runs like crap. bought a gws brushless 2208-18t for 18 bucks and that motor is far better then the himax was before i burned it. and less then have the money.

i built my plane stock. but before i built it i traced all the parts on some 3mm depron. and i intend to build another one with some changes, no plastic garbage, i built my plane heavy and i know i can get my next one around 8 oz's.

so far i like the plane it flew wonderful. its not the kit its the builder.

i even had a slow speed inverted crash. ripped the rudder right off. clip and i was airbourne.

i've bid on 2 more on e-pay. will post with the flatana and the 300

also building a foam version of the guillows 172. plank style.

happy flyin. ( to much wind today)
