Well i got down to the field pluged in my sx ext, bolted the wings on,did a range check
all good, fired up the saito had to come in quite a bit on the bottom got her purring like a cat.
took a walk, got 20 ft away glitch city, things worked good with the arial extended
but did not want to chance it, will have to go over electros and possible metal to metal
contact.kinda bummed, but she'll fly another day.

Was able to bore holes in the sky with the raider and wrung out the F40
also took my friend up on a WM skyraider high wing trainer
all in all a great day of flying.

guys,
I was looking mine over carefully and determined the fuse is just too weak. I had $800 worth of radio and engine in it and I'm just not willing to risk it in a plane this weak. I had structural problems from the get go. So I dismantled it and took it to the dump. I'm currently working on a scratch built project for this gear. See ya in another thread!

I am getting ready to put together the fuel tank on my Kat V2 70 and I was looking at the mounting holes used for the nylon straps. It looks like the front set of mounting holes goes over one of the holes that is used for the throttle servo. The back strap looks like it will just miss the back mounting stick for the throttle. Did anyone else have this problem and if so what did you do about it?

Also, I checked the fit of my Saito 100 and it won't quite fit. I assume that I just need to dremel out what is needed to make it fit.

Thanks,
Keith

well harleyflyer,
For the fuel tank i just crossed my zipties on the side with the servo. They fit fine under the throttle servo. However i was having problems with my air bubbles in my fuel lines. Others might not have this problem but i used rubber bands instead of zip ties to take some of this vibration and havent had a problem since. As for the motor mine did not fit either. I just used a sanding block and made it wide enough to acomodate my 91. happy building and i hope i helped

Hey Analog,

I have two other questions....I know there is right thrust built into the engine rails but nothing is said about up or down thrust. Do I just mount the engine without worrying about this? I know you used rubber bands on the fuel tank. I had originally planned on using the nylon ties on the fuel tank.....do you think I might have some problems if I use them?

Thanks,
Keith

i dont think you have to worry about up or down thrust just be sure to mount the engine parralel to the rails. As for the gas tank you could probably use zip ties. I just had some problems with airbubble so i went with that setup. If i were you i would use more foam than they have stock to try to absorb the engine vibration. Just do what works for the tank. If what you do first is a problem. Simply change it.

AB,
I'm almost done with my 120AX original design profile. Its coming out great! When its done I'll start a thread with pics and a flight report. At this time it looks like it will come out around 6 lbs with over 1000 squares of wing. 'should be killa!

I am getting ready to drill the holes for the bolt that holds the control horn on the aileron. I know that the hole in the horn should be directly over the hinge line. But what about distance left or right in relation to the servo? Does it depend on how long the servo arm is that you are using? Any general rule of thumb?

Thanks in advance,
Keith

Just make sure the pushrod is straight. that is to say 90 degrees from the servo arm and 90 degrees to the horn. This kind of thing makes a real difference in how the airplane responds.

lol. Sounds like my first time out with it. There was a couple feet worth of snow on the ground. Because of this we couldnt drive in. So it was like a 500m walk. No big deal but then we get it together and go to fuel up and the clunk line was bound up magically. Not sure how that happened. So had to deal wiht alcohol on bare hands in below zero temps. Ok got that going and go to start the engine and it turns out the driver is dead. O ok back to the truck to charge it. Go to use it again and its still dead. Alright that battery is cooked. Back to the hobby store. Not bad only a 15 min drive. Alright get it back and wait for it to finish charging. Treck back through the snow and get it running. Danmit the antenna fell back through the wing and glitch city rolls in. alright fish the antenna back out and get it running again. FINALLY good to go and it turned out i went flying which is different then your but it took a totall of about 4 hours by the time we walked in setup. Took the plane apart back out drive back. And a few walks back and forth to the truck. Owell man youll get it flying and itll all be worht it cuz its a blast
