Don, that chin intake is perfect isnt it. I will need to use the under wing cooler to get that much air up to the heads.
Thanks the pics help a lot.
Fit check of the landing gear. Big smiles now. Gonna reinforce the ribs about the landing gear blocks, then I will be about ready to do more sheeting. Ray

Ed, Just make sure you have a flat table and do the bottom sheeting first. When you do the top sheeting make sure you have the washout set and everything perfect before you glue. Don

Hello All Well, I've been "lurking" on this thread for awhile, taking in all of the great looking planes and awesome construction. I thought I'd post a picture or two of my first warbird project, first glass and paint project. Its a 1/5 Pica Spit, with a G62 for power. The first few flights were terrifying, but the plane is still intact and I'm going to retrofit a 3w50i with a cowl from Richard Rawle (Boy he must be busy flying 'cause he takes forever to contact!). Anyway, not contest class, but it looks good flying by! Thanks Sam

Maybe after my Vailly Hurricane, which is next. Those 1/3 spits you fly are incredible. I think maybe after my kids are done with school, or I win the lottery! Sam

I am looking at building a 15' spitty now and this one is going to be based on the prototype, K 5054 so hopefully it will fly like my 1/3 spit, how did you find that make of spit fly and handle?

Got some nice shots at an airshow in Beja, Portugal Air Show. The Spit is the one from the Duxford Museum, Uk. Enjoy. If you would like to see more, let me know. Regards, Pilotjam.

To all those aerodynamic wizards amongst us modellers,
I am building a 1/2 scale spitfire and have concerns about how to cover the wing, as this is going to be a very large area to cover using cloth/resin. I am really concerned if the wing would cause a rippeling in the skin when flown, this is hard to explain. I suppose the best way to describe it is would the wing, especially this size stand up to the pressures of flight just being covered in balsa and cloth/resin. the wing is about 16' the question is a niggerling one for me any help would be appreciated. for those people that do not wish to clog up this web site my email is morro8@bigpond.com. cheers
Todd
