Hello

Just thought I'd throw a reply in here regarding the Clark Merlin, had an e-mail from John Clark recently and he is upgrading the current Merlin Mk II, by increasing the displacement.

With his last runs (on my engine) he was seeing a prop rpm of 2500, with 35" of pitch and is shooting for 2800 rpm on 37" of pitch. He has been running his new gear reduction umit and so far everything is hangin' in there

I'm building mine as a Mk V, to honor a gentleman I had the pleasure to sit next to at a Mess Dinner many years ago, Duke Warren (RCAF and 65 Sqn, RAF).

Anyway just my 2 cents worth to the thread.

Dave

Just one request from the masses, the photo I use was sent to me last year and I would love to know who built this nice airplane. I use this picture above my work-bench as I struggle through some of the many discrepencies in the Top Flite builders manual of their 1/7th scale Spit (a wee bit of motivation at times!).

Cheers

Dave

Dave, can't be sure but I think your avatar is Sean McHale's Brian Taylor Spitfire. Sean is a regular here and over at rcscalebuilder.com.

Does anybody know what happened to Ray Harris (AirRayInc), the starter of this thread? I have not seen him post in some time. Sent him an email the other day and nothing back, his web has not been updated in some time. I hope all is well.

I would like to find him myself. Ray has a framed up, 82 inch Bates Seafury of mine and he has dissapeared with it. It is framed, with gear and an OS 300 twin. I guess he feels he needs it more than me.!!
