Hello,

I have 2 5625 servos dated march 02 on each elevator of my 1/4 scale Sukhoi. When the servos new about 25 flights ago there was no slop in the shaft whatsoever. Now I would have to consider the slop excessive allowing 1/8 up and down in one elevator and around 3/16 in the other. This is not gear slop. The play is back and forth parallel to the push rod. There is no play 90 degrees to the push rod. I am not sure if the upper bearings are shot or the upper case is worn. Can I send these back to be checked.

Lenny

Hmm, this must be a "feature" because my hitec digis all have the same problem. I also have that sticker

Robert,

How about sending your servos back to us at Hitec. Or perhaps if you find that "feature" desirable and want to keep your servos that way, I could make some "special ones" just for you and charge ya a few more ducats for 'em?

Seriously, all metal gear servos will wear faster than plastic ones, creating gear backlash. Based on Lennys description however it might not be gear lash so perhaps in the best interest of safety we should get a chance to fix this for you?

Also, what "sticker" are you referring to?

The little round sticker that says "Mar 02".

Mine were sloppy after 5 minutes of setting them up... my friend's were sloppy out of the box. I live about 1/2hr away, think if I catch you there, you could take a look while I'm there? It is certainly not geartrain slop, I can sit there and move the output shaft back and forth in a 360 degree movment. I don't think the slop is harming anything, but it will bug me if I try to get more throw out of them.

Robert300XS or Glen,
Be sure to report back here with the results of your check-up. I have several Hitec Digitals now.
