I miss the great covers RCM used to have. If you are old enough to remember the ones around 69-73, you understand.

Thumb through the old pages of this thread, jazzboy. We've posted very many of them and tried to get them in as much detail as possible.

Looks like RC REPORT Online is gone too.  No January issue yet.

No more comments from me ,other than that, at this time

I just took a look at the Dec highlights: it appears Brian Winch is the only remaining RC contributor. At least as of that issue. Sad to see, but evidently inevitable.

Not doing nearly as much as I used to do at RCR.  I write for High Flight and since they only publish 4 magazines a year, I do only 3 to 4 planes a year.

No, I do not want to get into the publishing business.  It's a jungle out there!

I'm on my 3rd membership with IMAA. The first two times, I dropped it because I couldn't see any benefit from my membership. The 3rd time, I signed up because now I saw a benefit: Dick Pettit reviews. I guess I got hooked from the RCR days. Keep up the good work.

One has to give credit to IMAA for putting 'Giant Scale' planes on the map and they did that job well. But times have changed and (in my case) there is nothing to gain from joining them other than I can't attend one IMAA meet in this area. The magazine was OK but I haven't read one in a long time (since my membership ran out). Times have changed - heck I remember when a .61 was a "BIG" engine at the field and only the 'rich' guys could afford one - yes times have changed Just my opinion about IMAA and where I live now.

I think it was a golden time when one could afford a simple machine (self built), back then....let us still try our best to participate. I do think we've gotten away from a time when we built our planes out of balsa and yes, foam wings at times, but affordable. Perhaps a class needs to be established for us old schoolers....there is classic pattern? I hate to think I am old now at 49, but things are a changin' ;-) Eric p.s. keep the faith

And to think of all the names that will be added down the road, like Don Lowe or Jim Oddino, or a host of a thousand other writers (Jerry Smith, Mike Lee) and countless others.

Thanks for that 1971 cover. I don't think I have that one. Nicely done!!

Bob

Wow.

Thanks for posting that. One of my favorite designs is Chuck Cunningham's Lazy Ace. I still have the one I built many years ago. I always enjoyed his articles.

It's been a while, so I thought I'd pose an RCM question as to whether anyone out there likes Autogyros with tight covering????

Thanks,.. but I also miss the good discussions that we used to have on here...

I wonder if there would be any value to purchasing the assets of the magazine (articles, columns, artwork, etc.,) and re-start the magazine using the more timely articles for print - by that I mean to reprint the articles that would still be relavant today such as teaching aerodynamics and aerobatics, teaching how to design, etc. Then maybe that would attract current day info as well.

And of course, the covers!!

Bob

"Worth" is irrelevant. What would it COST?

Kinda like what United Syndicate did with Peanuts? Just re-issue past articles in new covers?

I like it
