I have had no trouble hovering with and without the BCP body, however you can’t really avoid the tendency for the heli to slide left. It will never rise perfectly vertically, but you can get damn close! : ) Try lifting off while holding the cyclical stick slightly to the right, it will seem to tip right but as you get into the air it will all balance out and you are back at center stick hovering! KEEP PRACTICING and GOOD LUCK!

Any idea what the extra links are for and how they hook up? I've heard they're an improvement but don't understand how they would be set up.

Sorry, I don’t know about the bell mixer. I don’t actually have them installed on my heli.

Also off topic,
The T-REX 450 is awesome from what I can tell. I have only seen how it can be flown; you can see some amazing stunts here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=600

the videos are simply amazing!

and as far as the internet support for these things goes... well its great.
the BCP seems to have no one interested in sharing their little flight secrets (with this forum as the exception)

but the T-REX has many sites with lots of information.

one being:
http://www.trextuning.com/

and a good review at: http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=572

sorry if its a bit off topic but yea.. its awesome. I am seriously considering this as my next heli. I want to build it, and I want to fly it!

also brushless is just DAMN cool!

I have exactly the same problem as you. As long as tail is facing me, I am OK. I can fly forever. However as soon as I attempt to turn the heli sideways, it would usually result in a crash. soo frustrating.

Most people struggle with control in anything other than tail in. Only takes a minor mistake going the wrong way and not be able to save it. Keep practicing and soon it'll just click. I just keep practicing on the sim and then realize I'm actually doing it. I had a couple major saves this weekend and didn't even realize what I had done until I brought it down safely. Also wasn't so lucky a couple times and snapped the boom support off twice. Ca'd it back together and put it back up. That was the only damage all weekend, so I must be improving. I think the biggest key for me was to learn it only takes a tiny bit of stick to make a huge move. My initial tendancy was if I made a bad move to overcompensate and make a worse move until I was out of control. Another thing I had to overcome was thinking if I kept close to the ground I could bring it down and save it. More throttle, more air, more time to recover, good. Less throttle, ground rises into chopper quickly, bad.

i have been following these steps as far as tracking and everything. i have gotten pretty good at the sim that i got. so i tried flying my blade a few hours ago. it seems that the tail wants to spin the one side. i tried adusting the trim for the tail motor. but i can tell if that helped or not. any help on what to do next?

has anyone tryed using 3 hitec hs-55 or even better some hs-56 servos on a blade cp? thinking a better servo with more power and better centering might make the ol blade a little better flyer? also is there a way to install a heading hold gyro and still use the original 4 in 1?

Okay. So i got a new set of blades for my , ur, Blade.

The thing is now, with two different batteries, (one of which I know had been overcharged at one point by the previous owner), my heli flies like crap.
And Im not talking baout how bad I fly.

When it's just hovering, at maybe half throttle, it will just drop about 4 feet or so, then take back off again, kind of slowly.
Also, it seems that adding some right stick to the left, makes my motor slow down audibly.

Is it the :batteries? 4in1? Motor? I could really use some help here
(I just changed to the spare motor I had, because the thing between the wires lit on fire during a flight.)

Hi everyone, I am new to these forums. I just recently got a Blade CP for Christmas, and have since been tinkering around with it, but I am too nervous to get it off the ground. I just went out today and picked up the training gear, but unfortunately it doen'st come with any instructions on how to mount the gear to the skids. Anyone know of some instructions or even just a picture of a BCP with the gear on so I can see how it is done?

BDavison, thanks for all your efforts on this thread, It has been very helpful. Got a BCX a month ago and learned a lot as a zero time heli operator and just had to try the BCP. Now I can hover the BCP but have a long way to go Qestion on the BCP. Is the spindle supposed to float in the center hub? Mine can shift about 1/32 to 1/16th of an inch. Could this cause changes in head vibrations that I have observed during a single flight? Seems like I can start out hovering with little vibrations but later in the battery run after several hovers and no crashes there seems to be more vibrations. Anyone else find this? another question. I have not
experienced any sticking in the head at all. I got the machine about Dec. 28th. The grip was assembled with the larger washer with the ridge on it against the bearing. The I.D. of that larger washer clears the O.D. of the spindle. The small washer tightens against the face of the spindle. I do not understand how switching these washers could fix a sticky head? I don't have the problem but I'm curious about it???

Well guess I found the source of changes in vibrations during a single battery run. The silicone tubing that holds the tail rotor blade in place can back off pretty easily and allow some movement in the tail rotor blade. This can cause vibrations that transfer into the boom and main rotor. I found that Robart air line material makes a good snug fitting replacement for the stock tubing. Runs are more consistent now that the rotor blade stays in exactly the same place.

hi guys,

My very first Heli. I am a newbie to flyin but not to RC. She's still in the box, won't touch her until the the training gear stuff arrives. My question is, will a TP 2cell 1320 lipo pack have enough to power the BCP? LHS has one for $15 can't pass up a deal. I hated the ratchet feel on the trottle so did the fuel tube mod. Feels way better. i can't wait to start hoverin!

apprreciate the help!

With the 2 cell lithiums you need to run an 11t pinion on your main motor to increase the headspeed to compensate for the lower voltage of the battery. If not, you'll struggle for headspeed and have a tough time with the heli.

If you decide to go 3 cell, run a 8 or 9t pinion.

$15 is a steal, so even if you don't need it, scoop it up!

dooks,
thnk u for replying to my post. I've gone ahead and picked up the 2S aswell as a 3S pack. I do have another question for you though. It was a nice xmas this time around so i've got xtra cash to play with. I was thinking of picking up the

Eflight alluminu swash plate
Aerobatic kit
DD rear motor set up
or dual motor set up

Now, will these options make it easier for me to learn to hover or should I stay stock first? I haven't even taken the darn thing out of the box. I've been accustomed to ugradeing all my Nitro trucks and cars beofore I can even break-in the motors. Before the heli i was into nitro bikes now i've dropped that and eagerly siked on flying.

thnx

How tight do you tighten the screws inside the blade grips? I noticed one of my blade grips has some play in it (can pull it away from the main shaft) and the other does not. It doesn't seem like the screw goes in when you tighten it, but the play disappeared.
