new mcd monster truck

VERY COOL...
Read a review on it which gave it pretty good ratings!
Would love to get my hands on one (to go with my H1)
King Cobra has several posts with pics and info about this new RC.
They say their working on "Bling Bling" for it!?!?
Hopefully this new addition will encourage some MCD dealers state side...
BUT better yet "HOPEFULLY" MCD has improved Customer Service/Support!!!

That's the only car MCD have done, that they should be very ashamed of. It looks so ugly, the body is to small, and compared to that body the wheels are to wide, some ugly sideguards, and i just think the whole looks of it stinks... yes, i can see it now... it looks like a nitro p.o.s monster truck
not very scale like.
Cant believe that king cobra thinking of making stuff for that car, they should make some cool bling stuff for the mcd hummer and monster truck instead, or the buggy.
If anyone want a good looking car from MCD, they should first look at their rally cars, or monster truck, or hummer, not this "monster truck" proline model.
When i contacted a dealer, for some reason the order got mixed up and they thought i ordered a proline "monster truck".. I felt a panic feeling coming over me, and i contacted them directly within only seconds after i got the notification, that was a close call i can tell ya, i cant believe that they thought i wanted that car, my god [:'(]
The proline "monster truck is the ugliest car MCD have ever made in my opinion, if you want that style you could save money and buy a nitro monster truck instead, you wont have the size or engine type, but you will have the look
Btw, proline is a blackline +, a blackline with extra.... somewhere between blackline and blueline i would say, but more like a blackline plus
RCholic, how is your hummer coming along, are you done with the modification mate ? if so, could you send me some pictures ? have you felt the need to move your diff's, change places ? as i gathered they are not all the same.

My mate has a blueline and its just not right, fantastic from a engineering point of view(apart from the steering linkage) but not quite nice. the bodys just dont fit right.
This new one I think is a massive improvment for the looks/body fit.

I'm glad to see a DIFFERENT creature FINALLY!!! Everything since FG Bigfoot has just been a "COPY"!!!
here is an actual 4WD "shaft driven" w/differentials people have been asking for... Hey It's a Start !!!
I don't see the body to wheel proportions being that big of deal... it's better looking than their OLD MT!!!!!!! I personally feel this new one just looks like a Tmaxx with larger tires)
I DO AGREE though that It was cheezzy to take FG body instead of making a Chevy or Dodge though.
What is there now... 4-5 different LS MT and 1 Body Make... geesh
I'm thinking of getting one... personally I'm tired of seeing EVERY RC being FG... would like to wait and see WHAT "Bling" KC comes out with first though!!!...
From my personal experience with MCD... I'd like to see FIRST: "Alum. Diff housings" BEFORE A-arms...
lot easier to replace A-arms than tear down and rebuild Diffs!!!
Automan... My H1 is still sitting here...lol Have some parts in... still waiting on others for sometime...
But hope to have it up and running in the next few weeks... Will post pics once it's going again...
All my Diffs are run "open"... never messed with "locking" them... MCD 's are not "speed machines". The gearing is more set for torque... with I love being they are 4WD! Thank you for asking man!!!

I'm just glad to see something DIFFERENT!!! "Spice of Life" It's BORING seeing the same old 2WD copies coming out of the FG MT!!! nothing original!
I HOPE the MCD MT takes off and that MCD has their act together considering the large growth in 1/6,1/5 RC's in the last year or two!!!
Everybodies been crying for "4WD"... "4WD"... "Shaft-Driven"... "Shaft-Driven"...
WELL Someone was listening... MCD took the time and $$ to redesign their OLD "UGLY" MT ...
I'm sure there will be flaws in it (like with any other RC)... BUT MAYBE if enough people show interest in it... some aftermarket companies will jump on it with "improvements" just like ALL the OTHER RC"S NEED!!!
I'm very happy with my H1 "Blueline" But think about it... FG RC's are "technically" a blackline also!!!
ALL PLASTIC... BUT with NO 4WD/DIFFS or SHAFTS!!!
Maybe if it takes off... MCD will offer a "Blueline" version... at least for now KC is willing to put time and $$ into some hop-ups for it!!!
just my own opinion buddy! 8)

i don't know but when i saw where the tank is mounted it looks like maybe the engine is mounted the same way as that one 4wd buggy with the shaft drive. and that one, had a gyroscopic problem while in the air.
anybody got pics with the body off?

And I'm to pretty fed up with hearing only about fg cars, i have fg cars/trucks/buggys coming out of my ears [:@] we do need something else to have a better variety of cars, just that we need to have something else then fg.
The fg monster truck is all plastic in the stock version, and 2wd and fun to drive, but there will be stuff someone feels need's replacing in regards to how they drive, but the mcd proline monster truck have a few parts already upgraded and a real good 4wd shaft driven system that can stand some serious driving, so this car is a very good start and the shell is replaceable to something else if you want.
Keep in mind, a rally car from mcd is also fun, they can go some off road to, and they are also 4wd, and there are 3diffs in all the mcd cars, and i think at least one is adjustable.
I think if people are getting more into mcd there will be another very good company raising and be a very very strong competitor to fg etc.
So to all... there IS 4wd cars out with very good building quality that are for sure worth looking into, and as i said before, they have both rally cars, buggy's, and monster trucks and more..... and they are 1/5 [sm=thumbup.gif]

that's almost a months pay! looks like i'll be losing that 10lb. i gained in the last couple of months
that's a damn nice looking truck even if parts support isn't here yet.
i've got my 4wd conversion installed in my mb. i have a problem though the last time i ran, it had a bad landing and broke the carb spacer. they're very cheap on the sikk engines. they don't have brass sleeve where the bolts go thru. but i took the one off of my old 23cc fixed right, not the darn thing wasn't getting enough fuel so i pulled the carb off took it apart cleaned it and put it back together. i pulled and pulled then the starter got hard to pull i thought crap i've done it again. i think the ring has scraped the inside of the cylinder. i did get the engine to start in the begining and it was really cool watching all four hubs spin
i forgot to mention the silver metalic film on the sparkplug [:@]

According to this site they want 995 UK pounds for the truck without a engine, (995 UK is $1748 USD) and they make no mention if its a blue or blackline, and looking at the pictures it looks like a blackline to me.
http://www.kingcobra.co.uk/cgi-bin/s...ticle=16776830
Here is a direct quote from this site.
"MCD cars are priced as "rolling chassis", so you can choose any of the following engine options: 23cc Zenoah, 26cc Zenoah, 26cc CY, 29cc CY."
According to MCD's site the prices are as follows:
Ford Monster blueline $2,145
Ford Monster blackline $1,430
These are with a GC230RC engine, their site has no pictures of the truck (pretty sad), so I don't even know if this is the new truck.
MCD Racing
All in all, there is not very good marketing behind this product, and the info that is available is confusing at best, you should not need a private detective to get info on a new product.

Yes that is correct, there is a choice to go with or without engine, don't know if king cobra sell's only without engine though.
What i gathered is that the "new" MCD monster truck is not blackline or blueline, it's a proline.. and that's somewhere between blackline and blueline.
What i heard is that the proline will probably be the most popular car due to it's placing just above blackline and with enough metal in it to withstand very hard treatment from the user, and much better price then blueline.
King cobra isn't very informative all the time on their site, but if you mail them they usually respond pretty fast, in 1-2days or so.

MCD Ford Monster Truck (Proline) $1,705
I like this truck, and having 4 wheel drive at that price does not sound too bad, I hope MCD gets their marketing right so potential buyers can at least see this truck, and get some real info.

I have also thought that MCD should have a better site with pictures and better info, but as they seam to be selling to a narrow bunch of people (the mainstream choosing FG for example) therefor they just haven't put much effort in their site... being under construction since 2003
and don't try to email them either, what i heard they only deal with bigger distributors, and not your ordinary hobby shop and end user
but that may have changed in the last 2-3month ?
But they do make great cars, and you get a really well designed car what i have gathered, and a real 4wd to a good price. So even if their support and reply to email are absent, and their site is not very informative, if you decide to take the chance, i believe you will not be disappointed at all.
Btw, there are several dealers that have many MCD spare-parts in stock, in the UK and Europe at least, don't know about US, but there must be at least one dealer over there that have the basic stuff in stock.
Not many hoopup's created yet though, but i hope there will be coming soon [sm=thumbup.gif]
I'm just exited about other brands coming up beside good old fg in the big scale off road market

I received a reply from King Cobra, their trucks do not have a engine installed at the listed price of $1743, I don't understand the large price decrepancy between King Cobra and the MCD website where it is listed for $1705 with a GC230RC Zenoah installed.

]. Where'd you find the price at?
