I found some great pictures from racing of yesteryear and only the owners of the planes will know who's is who's. there are some of D.Kane, Norm Johnson, Bruce Hobbs, Dickey Ritch, "fast"Freddy French and others. ENJOY !!

Yeah Scot...thats a pic from the 80's in TX. We flew just about any stock 40 FISE engine with tuned pipes....it made it so sport flyers could use sport engines and still be fast. That was PRE Rossi days! Most guys used como's, OS, Supertigres, HP, HB, whatever they had.
A good como would turn a rev-up 8 3/4 X 7 in the 18 to 19 K range, they were lots of fun, we used crank case pressure too

Steve - I was trying to remember his name also. He lived in the Reno area, and always had an Ace/King playing cards on the top of the wing (BlackJack). I guess it was four airplanes to a deck. Good memory Randy!

Great pics Pete!!

The first picture, (yellow with red stripes and a canopy), was the original HurriKane, circa 1986.

I found some very old pictures from when QM-15 began in the Midwest about 35 years ago.

WOW!!!! Those Q-500 pics bring back memories to me too!!! I flew a BlackJack for about 2 years. It was a true flying machine!!! I won my first one only Q-500 event with it!! Man, hated to sell that plane, but needed to to fund my GS stuff!! I noticed that you had a pic of a T-Tail. From that angle, it lookes like a Super-T? I could be wrong.

Boy, did I have fun flying with those guys in D.5. Kinda miss it though, but not enough to start racing again. Long live those memories!!!

The dark side... Thats funny, Dave!!! Man, I think I would get dizzy and fall down after 5 laps!!!

Man, with the cost of gasoline anymore, I may go all electric!!!! Not hardly!!!!

Great pictures,,,,makes ya think just how far we come with designs,,,yet have we improved with our skills??? Those birds were not that stable and you really had to stay ontop of them to fly a good course!
Thanks for sharing then with us .
