I would say most all the engines are used for flying, only a few wind up being collector engines on display.
Here is one example:

Have you perused this thread yet?  http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6767296/tm.htm
I assume they have corrected the issue by now with the crankpins being overhardened but it may be worth checking out after you run some fuel through the engine, just in case.
Anyway tons of information about the engines in any case.

Hey!
Does any one have a good explanation why not to run the ASP 400 radial on 8% oil fuel ,when the OS sirius 7 runs on this mix?

(Neither of them draw the fuel thorugh the crank case like the Seidels)

Yes i have seen that thread on Knots tear down  the asp 400... amazing job on it!
My engine looks new and improved on the outside any ways ..... its finished quite nicely ..polished chrome and all...saves alot of work that i don.t care to do....i hope the manufacture took as great care on the inside of the engine as they did on the outside....i guess only time will tell....once it warms up a bit i will break this baby in

Has anyone bought the 14 cylinder radial from Authentic Scale Engines? http://www.authenticscale.com/index.html

I was interested but haven't heard from anyone who received one.

I see they are also coming out with gasoline versions including a 28 cylinder radial late in 2012.

There to heavy and not good performance ?

Small radials have poor power/weight compared to twostrokes. They do offer majestic performance with incredible looks and sound compared to the ubiquitous chainsaw. There is nothing that Id rather fly anymore.

Now that's an interesting engine! Only 41cc and a gasser? Nice...

More information required please   Where did your mate get the plans? Outside diameter?

What type of ingition, carby, fuel mix, bearings, prop size etc ... just a few minor details will do.

Regards, RossG

I see Advantage Hobby appear to have the old Siedel(now UMS) radials in stock, inc. the petrol(gas) 260cc which includes the collector ring,The price is not bad at 3000 USD. Pity I have already spent my money on a Saito325 and a Siedel/UMS 770! Just have to start saving up again, cheers,Mark.
