I think that cost is a BIG factor when you consider that you can buy a Saito 5-cylinder radial for around $1,400 and the R780 is $4,000. Of course the R780 is a 7-cylinder, and is incredibly scale compared to the Saito. It also has over twice the power. Still I think most people can't justify burnging 4K on a radial.

I have a Seidel ST 770 that I would like to use in a Bucker Jungmeister. I am looking for a Rodelmodell 78" wing span kit. Does anyone know where it can be purchased. Euroscaleusa used to advertise them in the US but I don't think they are still in business. Any web site I can order it from would great. Thanks

Buiding a Don Smith FW190 1/4.5 scale 89" wing spang. I'm guessing the final weight will be about 30-40 lbs. Want to put a radia in it.

Looking at the 3W engines, but not much has been said about them.

Any recommenations?

Thanks
SG

Re : Roëdel order you can see their website : http://www.roedelmodell.de/frames/frame1.html Be aware that you can order the kit already structurally finished (ARC) altough this might not be an option for you transportation wise. I choose this option for their M109 and the build quality was top notch. I was considering the Bucker also for a Seidel engine but I had to refrain from it, as I didn't like the front glass parts.

Hey guys.....Has anyone taken out their low speed needle on their ASP 400R and looked at the o ring there? Mine seems to be pinched but I just wan to confirm that this is not normal. My engine will run on prime from the exhaust stacks but will not from the carb......I suspect this is o ring is the problem. Any suggestions on needle valve setup for the high and low speed.....my low speed was way unscrewed out of the box!

nilsreinert123,

It would be tough to find an appropriate airplane for that engine because of its weight. Most of these radials are going biplanes because they have enough wing area to support the weight. I can't see this being in a big Corsair or Thunderbolt without the airplane being so large that the engine would be totally under scale in appearance. Try to fit it in any fighter that is near scale for the engine and it would be extremely nose heavy.

I am amazed with the FW190 by Air World running the RCS 215. That combo seems to work but I'm thinking there won't be a long nose D version because the engine weight way out on that long nose would make it difficult to balance.

AO: That is definitely not normal. The o-ring needs to be replaced.

Thanks Kmot........ I figured as such but just wanted confirmation. I'm sure that has been my problem in getting her going all along. I'll look into the o ring replacement. I would think a few engines uses a very similar size. Anyone know which for sure? I would think the OS would be similar.

SJN,

I stand corrected. However, you have to admit that it looks as though they dramatically increased the wing area and went with a high lift airfoil. All in all I'd have to say they did a great jo
