I went to the field to meet a friend and test fly a plane for him. This was a Tuesday night. I never fly on Tuesday night. Well, I ran into a group of older gentlemen that evening. And to my amazment they were all builders and they were flying some really nice scale stuff. I felt re-vitalized to run into some kindered spirits. It made me want to come home and finish my Sig Bonanza.

Anyway, my suggestion is to visit your field on a day that you would not ordinarily go. You might be surprised at who you meet.

Indeed. Most of the clubs around here have an "off-day", when the retired guys meet to avoid the week-end rush.

I am REALLY looking forward to joining that crew in 22 months...

I usually fly week day mornings when my kid is in pre-school...
during the summer since my boy is out of school, I have been sneaking out in the evenings...

and yep... it is a whole different group..... and then even another different group on the weekends....

Very nice all....

It is amazing the "flavors" of flyers at the field at different times. Weekday morning has a particular crowd...that changes in the evening...........weekends another type agian. I am lucky in that I work all types of hours and fly days, evenings, weekends ect. So I get to meet them all.

I really like weekday flying. It seems to me that the guys who fly during the week actually fly more while the many of the weekend guys rarely fly. I like to fly a lot so I fit in better during the week.
