John, anything in the works in the 30% range that I could put my 3W75iUS in? The Yaks are awesome, but the edges are tempting too.

Let us know what to look forward to, from you in the future. The Velox is awesome, if it was just a little bigger.

I purchased the 28% velox a month ago for Chief, but it didn't come with a Manuel, so I downloaded it, but I must say that it is a little incomplete in the area of engine mounting. Do you have instructions for a BME 50 ? I have never built a plane bigger than .60 size and I have never built a gas airplane. I would like all the advice you can give me. Also is there any problems that people are reporting with your product that I should fix now before building (besides canopy screw) like weak landing gear box, not using the provided ca hinges, anything that I need to be concerned about. I would rather fix it now than later. It took me 2 years saving to this airplane and everything to go in it , and months of research before I purchased your airplane. I have very high expectations. In fact I have a nice digital camera and I am going to do a review / picture build of the airplane to help others. Thanks a lot I tried calling Aerotech but no one ever answers.

Brandon

Brandon, I wondered when you find this site and thought of you when I first saw it. We are all anxiously waiting to hear more about your project and see pictures.

Keep us posted on your progress

Brandon,

I am there everyday. Since Im bymyself alot with the laser going at times I miss a few calls. I don't recall any messages or emails from you to help you. Lets see if I can help. In regards to the BME 50 I have never owned one or mounted one. It should no be any different than mounting most any other 50cc engine. I will say that since most BME's are lighter engines it can cause a slight CG challenge. So moving the batterys forward fuel tank etc. may be necessary. The instructions are online so people can have the latest updates if any are posted.

As far as the landing gear plate or area there of. We had 1 1/2 years on our prototype with no issues. Now with that said I ask every owner to brush a slow curing epoxy on the grear plate areas and firewall areas for an extra measure of strenght.

The hatch release unscrews. I never had that happen on the prototype. But its simple to unscrew it and use a good locktight to hold it in place. the CA hinges are fine, but some do not trust them. Both planes the YAK and Velox videos on our website are using the provided hinges. But you can subsitute them if you like.

I know you will enjoy the plane. Many customers are now flying them and a few are posting in the Giant Aircraft forum with there opinions. I will help you anyway I can. Just post, email or call and I will answer anything you need.

Thanks

John

John, I helped to teach Brando to fly (easy job, alot of talent) while he was in flight training at RAFB in San Antonio last year. He is very meticulous and does alot of research. I just sent him a very long email about selecting, matching and setting up servos and controls on a big bird. He may want to share it on this post, but I try to avoid long, dry technical answers.

Your reputation here in San Antonio is excellent. You make a great product and give good service. So say all your customers here. Hope you get a great thread going. Good luck and happy landings.

I just love having manufacturers/distributors coming on board. It truly gives the modeler a sense of security when all they have to do is log on, type the question or comment and get an answer that everyone can share. Although there may be some repetitive issues that keep coming up, the forum at least allows the purchasers and prospective purchasers to completely feel comfortable with the product they're buying and the support they'll be getting. Welcome John!

Thanks guys. I can't wait to fly my velox but it looks like I may not get it done before I deploy for the AF. I hope to at least take my shocky with me to the desert. I have heard that you would only be able to fly at night (it is a tad windy). I think it would be better for me just to take a laptop and flight sim. I am really taking my time and trying to do this right the first time, no matter the cost or effort. I love doing pattern moves, and freestyle but pattern the best. I really want an airplane that I can do both with...and being good at both, but mostly IMAC pattern. Mike keeps telling me that I will be getting even bigger soon, but I think that he just cant see...God bless his poor soul, or that is usually his excuse when he screws up HAHA

MikeBoyd,

I have a similar question as Brandon had back then. Do you think it's possible to forward me this "very long email about selecting, matching and setting up servos and controls on a big bird"?

Would be much appreciated.

THANKS,
Rick

John,
When do you think you will have some Yak ARFs out. I just don't have time to build anymore, but I really want one of you planes.
