I have been flying a Falcon Ready with an OS.46FX for a couple of years and it is great. I am building a Balsa USA Northstar for a 46FX, a friend at the lake has a couple of Northstars and they are really cool and will handle rough water better than anything I have seen. The Northstar will do vertical landings and looks like a jet flying!

I love float planes and have:

Seamaster---they are the best of the sport seaplanes

Balsa USA Northstar--also great off of snow

Cub--40 size Great Planes with Saito 60 twin

Ikon N'west Beaver--Saito 150

Ikon N'west Norseman--Saito 150

BTE Flyin' King---Saito 100

Building the G & P Grumman Wedgeon---half built, two Brisson 2.4's

Going to build the new BTE Giant Flyin' King with a set of floats--powered by a Brisson 4.8 twin. At this altitude it takes a little more engine to get off the ground.

Unfortunately the Wind River Basin is in the third year of a severe drought. We're hoping for lots of snow in the mountains this year!

Staggerwing-

Let me know how that Widgeon goes. I'm really scratching my head on the G&P Albatross. It would be my first kit but I really love the grumman flying boats.

I have a Golberg Cub w/ acommpanying floats OS 70 Surpass. Waiting for new cowl to be fitted and painted. Maybe new covering as my older brother did not do a very good job as it was his first attempt.
Also have an old Ace "Puddlemaster" Being powered by a Magnetic Mayhem 05 motor and 2.5:1 gearbox. This jumps off the water in 35 or 40 feet w/ 8 cells. Got finnished in Coast Guard fashion.
I have an extra set of GP 40 size floats looking for something to put them on.... maybe my L4 style GP cub.
I sold my laker kit as I don't have the time for it . Now I wish I hadn't.....oh well.
I nearly have an old Global Beaver kit finnished . Not a very good kit, but I got it together. May fly it electric w/ brushless motor and s pair of fiberglass floats. Can't wait to start flyin off water as I am nearly surrounded by lakes up here in Northern Mich.
Oh yeah...anybody go to the Float Fly in Brighton Mi.?

I presently have 3 planes on floats: a 90" GP Cub with a 91 Saito, a Sig Kadet LT-40 with a 40 Magnum, and a Sig Seniorita with a OS 25. I'm about 90% complete scratch building a 96" Beaver and hope to power it with a 120 4-stroke. I'm also making foam core floats (EDO style) in 27", 34" and 42". Have sold all that I've made so far at a local float fly and at a swap meet. Hard to get to the Beaver when I'm making floats! Our club has a float fly twice a month at a local state park that has a perfect huge pond. Our wives got together and they bring some great food. What more can you ask for?????? We usually get about 20 flyers and about 20 more that I think come for the food. Can't wait for spring.
