For those using the Chip Hyde horns, what are your feedback? Is it good or would you use some other horns? Your feedback will be appreciated.

What's the thread size of the Wing attachment bolts?

I lost one. Want to rig something up I can tighten by hand.

Thanks,
Lee

Thanks Tom. Those light bolts are great, but you've got to since them down good or they vibrate out. It's a pain to get to them in the front, so I'm going to try JB Welding something I cang get my thumbs around onto the bolts.

Lee

Might I suggest....
http://www.rsnewzealand.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/searchBrowseAction.do?com.broadvision.session.new=Yes&D=6mm%20Diameter%20Shaft&Ntt=6mm%20Diameter%20Shaft&Ntk=I18NAll&Ntx=mode%20matchany&N=0&Nty=1&name=SiteStandard&forwardingPage=line&R=4638485&callingPage=/jsp/search/search.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0547687224.1160483627@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddjdhdfhmfcefeceefdffhdgmj.0&cacheID=nznetscape&Nr=avl:nz

A little pricy but if you look around there are many more options available. I'd also put some CA or Locktite on the threads to gum them up a little so they don't vibrate loose.

Basin Bum:

I got to a general site, but nothing specific. What are you refering to?

Also, that's a company in New Zealand? Think Shipping might be a tad high. ;-)

I was thinking of reworking the bolts to be pins and use a cotter pin through them with a catch stop.

Lee

Tom:

Aside from some QC issues and the weight, I'm pretty happy with mine.

My biggest gripe is the Canopy fit. THe canopy is a bit "warped" and doesn't fit snug, and the design of the bolts that secure it in place is poor. If you tighten it too much, it collapses the balsa on the side of the fuse. If you don't tighten it enough, the bolts come loose.

Additionally, while the supplied hardware was OK, alot of it is odd metric sizes, which makes it hard to substitute individual parts. The plane looks great, and flies great. I've done everything I can to lighten it but had to add some nose weight, as it was tail heavy.

How you making out with yours?

Regards,
Lee
