Just curious if you have an estimate of when the new Yaks will be available.

Will we be charged when they come in and are shipped or now if we preorder?

I was looking at the pictures and are the hinges Robart Hinge Points or something equivalent or are they CA hinges?

Hello,

The hinges supplied are a very good CA hinge that I have on my little Velox. No problems so far.

Thank you

Dave

Thanks

Are the wings FOAM core or built up? What other parts are foam if any? What canister muffler are you recommending? Is there room for a Slimline Pitts muffler?

Hello,

We used a Pefa cannister that worked well. Plenty of room for a slimline also. The wings are built up. The turtle deck and the belly are the only foam sheeted items.

Thanks

John

One last question, I have a ZDZ 50 NG and a Slimline Pitts style muffler. So if I didn't want to use a canister, could I just cover up the hole for it?

I thought my 1st questions has been asked and answered but I can't find it, so here goes. 1) Do you know for sure what covering is going to be used? 2) If running the cannister that you had in the prototype, is there any special tuning knowledge that is needed (such as with tuned pipes)? I'm looking at this plane as possibly being my first gasser and need a motor/muffler combo that is basically plug-and-play.

Thanks for the information.

Hello,

The covering is what they order for thier planes from germany. They produce planes for many large companys. I will have photos showing the cannister install in the manul that will be online next month. Nothing special is needed as you will see. I hope this helps.

Thanks

Hey John;

What engine have you been using and how does it balance out . Is there any weight added to front or rear of plane, and what is the total weight of the proto plane.

thanks,
Stacy

Hello,

The DA 50 has no problem to balance. No additional weight is needed. Finished weigh RTF was 16lbs 8 oz with a Pefa Cannister. Let me know if I can help further.

Thanks
