There are two modes for Transmitters.. Mode 1 and Mode 2.

IIRC, mode 2 is the mode that most people use to fly helicopters.. the "elevator" and "aileron" (not really the right terms in helicopter land) are on the right stick, and throttle and rudder on the left. Some people prefer the other mode and it sounds like your manual is referring to that mode.

@thecheatscalc. I dont know about a #36 to T-Rex, but at a meeting the other day, someone expressed interest in whether the landing gear on my #39 would fit a T-Rex. Apparently the T-Rex gear is known for breaking easily on rough landings, whereas the #39 gear seems a lot springier.

The guys who were checking it out seemed to think the #39 gear would fit a rex, if thats any help to you, Walkera call it a "Horse" and the part number is HM039-010

    Spockie-Tech -
    Thanks for the response.

Does anyone know how to optimize the pitch for #36. I put channel 8 on unlock to see what would happen and now the pitch is off. For those who are curious about channel 8, my advice is don't touch it! I'm paying for my curiosity

Its not that hard to get it back in tune if you have fiddled with the pitch curve's. I wrote a little bit about it back in this message.
    http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=3309067

Unplug the red main motor connector and have a twiddle, you'll get the idea after a bit of experimentation

You simply want the "normal mode" mid-stick pitch (controlled by the PZT knob) set so the heli lifts off at just over half stick.

Then unplug the motor and set the PLT knob so maximum pitch (full throttle) doesnt bind up the mechanism. If the motor bogs down badly at full power when flight testing, back off on the PLT knob a bit.

There are seperate settings for the "3D" flight mode as well.. In that instance, you want mid-stick PZT to be zero-pitch (maximum RPM) and the PLT affects both the positive and negative pitch maximum travel (for inverted flight).

Rough'n'Ready but it worked well for me until I got a pitch guage and could do it by the numbers

    Hi,

Do anyone know what is causing my heli not take off? I bought have one NiMH battery use to give me 5 minute flight time and now only ten sec. Then I bought two Blue 2200 walker battery also give me 10 sec. Then I bought another brond Lighting Power 1300mah battery still give me a 10sec lift. I think at this point I can rule out a battery problem. Then I also think is not the charger because both my lithium and nimh battery is doing the same thing.

I am think might be the internal esc? Any suggestions? If I get a brushless setup, will it slove the problem? I am to the point fed up with the heli. I will give it one more try and that's it. Don't want to continue spending money on it. I still think it's a nice heli, I am not bashing it. Part of the problem is that I crashed quite a few time.

jascamera, how long have you been flying? how many charges have you put on the batteries? what C rating does it have? the stock ni-mhs hve a problem with not having enough discharge rating, while you could have overcharged your li-polys causing problems. if you're useing the stock charger you shoul never charge (2200 mAh) over 1:30 min. if you're sure it's not your batteries check the motor. I think it's dying on you, and it's time to get a new one/brushless. if you don't have that kind of money you can get a replacement stock motor at grand rc for only $8. and yes if you see that your brushes are worn out then it is time for brushless, it should solve your problems, and I hear that the align 420LF is a beast. I'm getting one so I plane to keep you updated on that situation.

NOZZARCHELI: i'd suggest reading through this whole topic on walkera 36's trust me it'll elp you qite a bit (make sure you have snacks )

heh heh heh no....no one is EVER going to help you, we're all just going to watch you die in misery as you try to find out heh heh heh

ok here's the configuration. 1 (nearest to motor plugs) lift, 3 tail, 5 left/right, 6 Forward/Back (why I said nearest to plug is because I can't see the numbers on the channel places so the hole closest to the motor plug/batt plug is my 1, continue from there.)

PS: I have my RX on top and upside down so the CETs are facing the wind (the parts that overheat so fast) and some da I'll make them a heat sink.
