hi guys, I seen on here that someone added some nickel to nose. I tried that today and it seen to be balance. I have not gotten out to see how it would fly bacause of high wind. Thanks for all the help. OH, I was trying to order some cnc blade holder last week, and order the wrong thing. I got only the steel rod for the blade holder.

About the gyro orientation. My instructions say nothing either, but I have read many threads about the Telebee not working correctly with the label vertical as with the Logitech 2100.
At Helifreak.com , in the HDX300 tech room, there is a video on setting the Telebee up. Maybe the newer versions may work that way, but best to go by what others are doing.

I worked out a cool way to make custom control rods. I couldn't be sure of what to buy for my tail pushrod, no specs so I made one.

First, I picked some cyclic rods I had with the threads on both ends. It could have been a Z bend on one end but MUST have threads on one end. Using K&S stock # 1015 , 3/32 x .014 aluminum rod, I fitted the two cyclic rods into the aluminum tube to guage the length. Then I trimmed the tube to perfect length, and now the BIG SECRET ( ) I crimped the tube ends to the threaded end of the cyclic control rods.
Now I have a perfect length tail pushrod. It's very light.
So far it is very strong but will need some cycle testing to prove it's worth.
The crimping pliers are at Lowe's electrical dept., GB brand, maybe model GS-88 but I'm not sure of the model number, it says that on them. They were about $8 USD

I threw in some photos of my CP2 belt tail mod. It flies nice, but my G006 gyro is drifting badly below 60*F air temp. I almost crashed a few times because the gyro drifted so badly. I am putting this one on hold awhile. It's size and motor/battery requirements are a tricky match, not so easy like the 36. I was trying to sleaze by on $15 to$20 ~1200 mah 3 cell lipos and the flight times aren't looking so good unless I use something like a 3800 kv/8t pinion. I don't think 8t pinions are going to be quiet and worry that they will grind main gears too often.

Want a laugh ? I found out VPX as in VPX LiFeP04 batteries also refers to a mutant HIV (aids) strain. So, don't tell anyone you have VPX !

Man that's lookin real good. The 22E skids are a great match. Hope you get it finished soon. I know you didn't ask but I'd guess 3500kv 11T 1300mah paired with that ESC we talked about. Nice job on the frame.

Close, I tried the cnchelicopter.com 4200kv motor but it's kv is too high for 3 cell lipos and a bit too low for 2 cell. It is EXCELLENT on the DF4 or HBFP. Then I considered 1100mah A123, same as A18650 or VPX batteries at Walmart. They are 42g ea, and it takes 4 cells to equal 1 3 cell lipo, but the 4 cell VPX holds pretty much a constant 12v up till discharge, then it's auto time if you didn't plan.
NOW HEAR THIS, the people running them are getting over 800 cycles, some say about 1,000. And you can recharge them in about 15 - 20 minutes, meaning you may only need 3 to do charge - fly all day almost nonstop. You could get by with 2 and a 10 or so minute rest.
A 3 cell would be just nice, but a 120g 9v battery ? sounds like NIMH but much moree powerful and longer lasting.

So now I'm going to pull the JGF 400DF from the 36 and try it. It's about 40g, I has hoping to use the 25g cncheli motor. I guess I can move the old 400LF 2800 kv to the 36 but it's a boat anchor at 71.7g, almost 2x the 400DF weight. It will make LOTS more power but I don't need it. The 400DF, especially in governor mode is all the 36 really needs for mild 3D. Maybe I'll get a new 400DF. And there is the Esky 3100kv but it's not in stock at any of the dealers I use. Actually, it is only 80% efficient and that means it's going to run hot. We need 90% and that makes the difference.

Yeah Chophop clean looking heli. That aluminum tube mode is a keeper I will store that away in my knowledge base. I though about a 500 or 600 on A123 but then just decided I would go for a nitro. Seems like the Trex 600N Super Pro is going to be 1/10th of the value of my Jeep when I get done with it but anyway that's what I want.

Thanks to my loving wife I will be picking up the Trex 600N Super Pro tomorrow. I don't have the money for the cyclic servos, gyro or tail servo right now but at least I will have the heli. It comes with everything you need including blades, flight pack and all pretty decent quality stuff.

hmm wonder if I can go A123 for my son's Rustler?

Do you know what voltage the LVC kicks in on those A123's? Also what are the dimensions of a cell? I was going to make a li-ion TX pack. But those A's sound better.
