Happy to hear it was temporary.

Right now my 36 is the best flying heli that I own. The Comet is apart to fix a problem in the tail and the Cobra had a failure to launch on the first try to start it. I have to completely dissamble the clutch to repair a slipping problem. Anyway the 36 will fly rings around the Comet right now and if it is a good example of the Trex type of heli then so far I'm not impressed.

Well so much for that! Another wind assisted crash! I guess I'll never learn to stay inside when the wind is blowing as the 36 just got blown into a GD tree. Broke the "industructable " blades and the frame mounts for the skids. May have damaged the main gear also.

    I am soooo pissed!

    Long time

How about 3500kv and 3200kv motors from Scorpion? You know I love my KA's but also know a good thing when I see it. Would ya post some links to these sized motors? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know. All those who read but don't post on the forums. This site comes up under some Google searches. On several occasions I've searched the net for things related to RC and have clicked and found one of my old post. I think there should be a Walkera 36 hand book web site. It should be a collection of all the best, relevant and concise post describing 36 setup and mods. Maybe include a summary of Lipo safety as the first chapter after the Walkera 36 introduction and tutorial. We need someone to spend the long hours reading and cataloging the most universally useful and relevant posts. Someone (sorry don't remember who) started a site like this but I don't have a link. Maybe it's still up and maintained?

I was wondering where you were RT. I have been sick and grouchy lately, better today.
The Scorpion HK2028-28 is excellent for the 36 with a 12t pinion. I'm set up for 2300 rpm at 80% throttle. I got a 22% reduction in current draw, down to about 870mah in 9 minutes of pretty wild sport flying. The motor/esc comes back barely warm and the battery barely above air temp. I can get a little run and just a push of collective and elevator and it's up a hundred feet.

The JGF 400DF definately torques better, if not for battery voltage sag at the end of the flight, I wouldn't need governor mode for it. The HK2208-28 sags a bit and just doesn't seem to deliver the instant torque the 400DF does. The 400DF averages about 1100 mah in 9 minutes on the same 670g DF36.

The Scorpion has the delicate motor windings for leads, the 400DF has heavy duty wires. I already broke a Scorp lead when trying to unplug it from the esc to reverse wires.

Either one is fine for me.

Well, remember that orange MX400 I crashed on my first day of sickness when my cold made my eyes blur and I lost it ? It's been rehabilitated and is now bright yellow. I sanded and painted it. Factory quality paint job except for two little runs , but they are shrinking. I did the weight, CG , and balance by Bob White's video on Helifreak.com on a pair of Walkera 280mm foam blades and I have them on the MX400 for now. It is smoother than ever, I never did the weight/CG step in balancing, but will always now. I also put a strip of scotch tape along the leading edges to be sure they don't fly apart. My guess is air gets into the seams and blows them up into separating.

The 36 is still flying ok.

I decided to put the CP2 belt mod on hold awhile. I need a better gyro, 4 servos, blades, canopy and AR6000 to finish it permanently. I think the MX400 and DF36 are going to be ok. The CP2 is too light for this windy hill top.

Well my 36 is a mess.
Broke the frame, stripped the main gear, bent the mainshaft and the boom, and destroyed the tail assm.
    It may sit for awhile.

Sorry BH. That's why I fly all I can,,,, while I can. The world is full of change.

The foam blades are to keep it flying. I am mad because I can't find the Sonix 288mm CF blades. These are very unique. They have some intricate contour on the tips and also have a sort of trans-sonic profile on the trailing edges. Very quiet and efficient. Not even a hiss and absolutely no buzz except in high G .

They stopped selling them when the Shogun ran out of wax. X-heli.com has some that appear to be the same but you know how that stuff goes.

    Thanks Chop,

I don't remember seeing those blades but i'll keep an eye out for them. I'll fix the 36 soon but right now I just can't.
Does anyone here have any experiance with the 35?

I don't know if my griping has been keeping the thread going or slowing. I quit griping and it stopped.
Well, let me think something to gripe about.
