I tried that 36 FP but went on to the CP2-BT mod for outside. I think those little palm sized Walkera CP and FP helis are it for indoors. You can get em for around $100.
The 36 is FINE with 288mm CF blades and metal main grips. It's been a really nice heli with that Scorpion HK2208-28/12t. Lately, I have been prefering the CP2-BT because it is so maneuverable. It is twitchy, tough for a newb.
I'll look up those blades, but without taking them apart, I really wouldn't know. I have been hit by the Walkera 4 blades several times and they barely broke skin and left a laugh of a welt. A proud little war wound.

    LOL Chop,
Hey just forget about the Quark blades. I found out that they are only like six inches long so it would be like using tail blades on the mains! Oh well I'll keep looking for some indoor blades for my 36.
The more I fly my 36 the more I love it!

    OK then!

Finally getting my s$%t together and getting some decent parts for my DF36.

I don't know if i ever mentioned but I bought it 2nd hand off a guy at my work (only crashed once!) and only had a broken blade holder.

I've bought the C'n'C head/swash combo but that had a stuffed bearing in it and need to get another (I hear parts are always handy).

I completely stripped and rebuilt the chassis, main gear, tail gear. (might go the C'n'C tail rotor/boom too).

I bought one of those Scorpion motor's Chopchop mentioned. I have a TowerPro 30amp ESC... is that the wrong choice for this motor Chopchop?

I Bought 4 of those TowerPro 5g servo's (not TP branded but the same servo's from asia).

I have new blades, some other various spare parts.. some batteries (mystery lol)...

AND I'm almost entirely sold on the Spektrum DX6i transmitter/receiver. Here in Australia the DX6i rrp's for under 250 and from all the reading I'm doing it looks like a full featured 6ch transmitter... am I doing it right?

Cheers and thanks again for all the great info.. It's doing my head in lol!

You need three 9g servos (2 cyclic, 1 pitch) and one 5g for the tail. Go for the DX I wish I had. Instead I got the Futaba 6exh which is only good for helis.

    Oh I told a fib

I actually did get 9g servo's not 5g like I thought (these ones)

Can I use a 9g for the tail? or should I buy a special servo just for the tail.

    Regards,

I would get an HS-56HB for the tail. VERY reliable. Other servos didn't last more than a few 10's of flights. I have over 400 flights on that tail servo. I found it best to spend a little more on servos and save crash damage costing more than the servos. I use HS-65HB on the cyclic and the HS-56HB on the tail on both the MX400 and 36. I am currently running S-75's on my CP2-BT with my fingers crossed. I have not had good luck with them. I am running an HS-65HB on the CP2 tail and it is doing great.

But I got a bunch of them (S-75) for $5 ea from HeliProz in flight packs from DX6 systems. People were requesting the DX6 without servos because they stink. I was new and didn't understand I can't afford to buy the cheap junk.

I just got a set of Futaba S3114 servos for the CP2 cyclic. I fingered some Futaba servos and they seem as low backlash as Hitec. The S3114's are 20g torque, .1 second at 4.8v with a ball bearing PTO (power take off) that weigh 7.5g and are $15.00 . 1 year warranty. Seems too good to be true. We'll see. They are a recent new product.

I think there are some PE foam blades at Aero-Fever or some HK vendor. They might be softer. I'd say skip the 36 indoors except for a quick test hover. Too big.

Oh, the S3114's will need some mod to fit the S-75, HS-55, Esky, NS-05 etc. 9g footprint. They are slightly smaller. It looks like extending the screw hole on out the edge of the tab and a large washer will work. I WILL MAKE EM WORK.

Yea, I did build an FP36 but it's not safe inside. It's nearly identical to the Compy FP (size, weight, flight time, performance). DF4 blades will not work. They will not hold shape under that much weight. My AUW is 420g and I dont think I could have done much better than that. I'd recommend Compy FP blades for your mini 36 build. Here are some pic of my dusty FP36.

Chop, What I meant was do you think that the Quark blades might work on a 36 for indoor use? Or do you know of some other blades that would be safer than the normal ones?
Didn't you or RT or HS make a lightweight indoor version of a 36? Or am I crazy? ( As usual )
