I've had my #35 do that on a few occasions as well.. a sudden freeze of the controls, sometimes just after a unexpected change, for about 1 or 2 seconds then it recovers. This resulted in a crash once and a few scary moments on other occasions .

I wonder if the Walkera Tx might use a non-standard transmit encoding system ? I tried to get the Tx to talk to another micro-Rx I had on the same band with no success. It may just have been incompatible crystals, but I wonder if the walkera Tx is putting out a standard signal or not. If they use their own digital transmission system, that might explain the PCM-like 1 second drop-outs in communication -

Has anyone else got a Walkera Tx to talk with a different Rx ?

Or it could be a momentary voltage regulator shutdown from overheating like art103 suggested ?

In any case, I'm now building a #39 (The Walkera T-Rex clone) with a Futaba radio, Align ESC and Brushless, and HiTec servo's, that should solve any radio issues..

When it (the glitch/freeze) happened to me I was actually at the Melbourne Electric heli meet in a netball stadium with about 10 other RC heli's. At first I though someone else must have turned on a Tx on my freq but all frequencieswere registered and mine didn't conflict with anyone else though. Most people are on 36.xxx MHz, the #36 that I have came with 35.120MHz.

the cell phone sound like someone called creating a large glitch making the thing go crazy and if the cell phone is interfering it should cause problems every minute because of it updating the clock and other features.

    Hello,

Newbee here, just want to thank RC UNIVERSE for having a online forums. Otherwise I wouldn't know where else to go for help on my dragonfly #36.

I just bought a dragonfly #36 heli with the 2200 li-po batter, 30A ESC and Brushless Motor. I got it to fly for a few seconds and it flew into the wall damaging the main foam blades. I found out that the signal between the reciever and radio controller was lost. Now here is the wierd part, if I walk about five feet away from the heli even with the antenna on the raido fully extended, I lost signal with the heli, and the gyro LED light just blinks until I get closer, that is where the heli makes a beeping sound and I have signal again. And also even if I stay close by to the heli, when I try to fly it again right before 50% of throttle I lose signal with the heli and the LED light on the Gyro blinks and then it resets again by making a beeping sound. Does anybody know what could be the problem I'm having? I'm guessing that it's the reciver causing the problem. Also what part of the heli is making that beeping sound?

I brought it to a hobby shop and they told me it could be the radio controller, the crystals, the reciever, the 30A ESC, or the Brushless motor. They told me to send it back to the guy I bought it from so they can see what's wrong and replace whatever I need.
The guy at the hobby shop also said that the helicopter blades spin up too fast when he slowly gives the controller a little throttle. He said it shouldn't do that, it should start up slow and smooth. Is that true about the blades starting up slow and smooth when the throttle is moved up a little and slowly? So does that mean the ESC is faulty?

I just sent all the electronics back to the seller like the radio, reciever, gyro, ESC and motor. He said that he will test them out and replace the bad parts and send them back to me.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

I noticed kind of the same thing when i first got my Walkera #36 but then I realize that the 2 position switch on the top right on the TX was on the low position or 3D, it has to be on the up position for it the throttle to start smoothly (normal CP flight), I think it was designed so if you are in mid flight you can hit the switch sending the throttle to full instantly and be able to to fly inverted and do 3-D stunts.

Thats the thing I had it on the normal switch side, thats the only way to be able to start up the heli at all, and when me and the hobby shop guy pushed the throttle up slowly it just spins up the blades pretty fast and not slow and smooth at all. And the hobby guy said that it shouldn't do that. When the radio controller switch is in the 3d mode position and when I turn it on and plug in the battery for the helicopter. I get no throttle response at all, the motor dosesn't start at any throttle positions on the controller. It only works once I flip the switch back to normal and pushing the throttle to all the way down position. Then when I move the throttle up then the motor starts to spin. Is that normal too for these types of 3d helicopter setups?

If your throttle stick is not in the lowest position during normal mode when you plug the battery, the esc will not allow the motor to arm. This is a safety feature. If you start the heli in 3d mode, the stick has to be in the middle position. The throttle can be increased in either up or down position.

As for motor not starting out smoothly, try adjusting gear mesh so that they are not too tight.

The shaking will affect the gyro during flight. Does the shaking only occurs during spooling up or does it exist through out the pitch change?

To minimize the vibration, make sure the entire head assembly is balanced.

    1. Ensure the flybar is straight and equal in distance. A bent flybar will cause the head to vibrate even when the blades are perfectly balanced.

    2. Balance the fly paddle. Remove the blades and spool up the
