I had a walkera 36 try putting a heat sink, even a home made from a coke can. The reduce heat from the motor will cause less glitches. Also when you hold the heli, it's making that glith noise it should be the gyro is telling the servo to adjustment, but I can be wrong. Mine are doing that, but I know it's only the tail servo that's moving. Check and see if it's only the tail servo that's making all the noise, if so you have no worries, your gyro is working. Then, I would highly reccomend that the first 50 flight you should never lifted above 6 inches. You have to find out what tendency that the heli have. Is it leaning left, or right and etc. You have the correct all these tendencies and have it hover in the same spot. Then you can hover a feet and higher and higher. Be patient.

It's the pitch angle. If you correct all the tendency and able to hover easily. Then you can unlock the back button #8 on the back and adjust the pitch angle on the top right of your control. This will give you more lift, but don't do it' more than 11 degree, burn's the motor and batteries. Then you lock the #8 button. Try it a few times till you get the lift you want.

Another guy on another fourm suggest that, with no load on the new motor and just run it for a hour, or half hour to break in. Then assemble the motor gear and main gear just a bit from each other, therefore less friction. To reduce the moto heat, get a heat sink, or home one from a coke can.

I just show my friend who have a T-Rex xl. He was so piss at me that he had to pay $700, while I only paid $215 with 3 blades and 2 batties. He think it flies just as good. I have a lot of fun. But I hope that I won't have a bitter story to tell later because I only had it for 2 days.

Just a quick note for you guys having radio glitches! I have many Walkera Heli's. I am not an experienced model heli pilot. somewhere around newbie/beginer to intermediate. I have figured out first of all that the Walkera radios are prone to glitchng or outright shutting down while flying. So recently I went to buying the Walkera helis without radios. one of those is a #45. I put a Hitec dual conversion micro 6-channel receiver in it expecting only the best. the transmitter is a JR 8103. I was hovering it on one of its first flights and it was glitching a little bit. I was pretty bummed. The Hitec receiver has an antenna about the same length as the Walkera receivers. It was wrapped from the landing skids back to the horizontal stab and back twice to take up the length. I decided to try out the "Deans" antenna that I have seen mentioned on the forum a time or two. Keep in mind that the little base loaded antennas are not supposed to increase range or cure glitching. They are supposed to make your antenna fit in a smaller space and they look cool too. The instructions that come with the "Deans" antenna say to do a range check first before installing the "Deans" antenna so you will be able to verify if it is better or worse. Normally it should be nearly as good as the original antenna but no better and hopefully not much worse. be sure to do your range check leaving your heli antenna the way it normally is for flight. Big note here! either disconnect your motor plugs or take off your blades! as you get out of range your heli may spin up unexpectedly! I went outside and with my heli setting on the ground and my transmitter antenna retracted all the way down. I started walking back. I got about 6 feet and the heli lost radio control. I was suprised that it was that bad. I extended the antenna on my transmitter and started walking back again. I only made it about 50 feet and it was out of range again. I thought, no wonder this thing is glitching. that short range stinks! I went in and installed the "Deans" antenna and started a range check again. this time I just started with the transmitter antenna extended all the way. I backed up at least 150 feet before I gave up because I could not see the swashplate well enough to tell it was moving. I was completely surprised at the improvement! I got over 3 times the range going to the baby antenna. I beleive it has to do with having to loop the original antenna around the heli to keep it from hanging down and getting caught up in spinning blades. anyway I am sure results will vary. I just wanted to share my good experience to let you guys know that there is a possibility of a fix for the glitches out there. I beleive that there are several companies out there that are making the little "base loaded" antennas. usually they sell for around $10.00 and for me was worth every penny! :) I have one more "Deans" antenna that I have not installed on another heli yet because I am trying to decide which on to try it on. the #4 that has a stock walkera radio that has glitched from the day I got it or on the #35 which has a GWS 6-channel receiver (not dual conversion) that has a fairly short antenna to begin with. the #35 rarely glitches. The "Deans" antenna instruction sheet says the antenna is designed for receivers with antenna lengths of 36" to 39" in stock form. when I figure out which one to put the second antenna on, I will report back on how it worked...

hyperluminal - Bummer about your #36. Although before you go blaming the supplier you probably should read some more info on RC basics. ie. Always Turn on your Tx (with the antenna fully extended & the throttle fully down) before turning on the Rx (connecting the batt)! That is exactly why you should it. Also, with the Walkera Tx, make sure the 3D switch is set to N & the before you turn on anything. I hope it doesn't take too much to repair it. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advice in the PMs so far. It turns out that the unexpected take off could not have been prevented anyway. I took Tx and Heli to my local hobby shop and they discovered that both the 3D/Normal switch and the Throttle toggle were mounted upside down! So, even if I was smart enough to have started it correctly, disaster was inevitable. I called the distributor and they agreed that, based on what the hobby store guy told them, they would send me a new bare bones for free if I payed the shipping only. So, not all the suppliers out there are as bad as some threads here suggest. Another few days and I will be trying again - and also be a lot smarter thanks to you all.

Hello all! I noticed a strange problem on my heli! If I move for example cyclic foward on the radio then the flybar tilts foward as it should, but the main rotor tilts a bit foward and a bit left too, so the flybar and the main rotor are rotating in different planes! This is true for all pure cyclic directions! I dont know why doesn't the main rotor cathes up with the flybar correctly! Can somebody help me in this matter? Thanks in Advance! Toomy

Here are photos to my home made heat sink. Cut about 3/4 to 1 inche wide metal sheet from a soda can of your choice(cut around the can once will give you the perfect lenght). Fold the metal like the photos. At each end of the sheet fold it so you can connect both end. Therefore you shouldn't need any glue of screw to hold the heat sink to the motor. Take a look at the photos and you know what I mean. The past 3 days, I haven't notice any problem with the heli considering that I crashed hard a few time and broke 2 main blade.

Does anybody use 1.2v AA rechargable nimh batteries with their walkera radio control without any problems? Or do you have to use 1.5v AA alkaline batteries in order to work without problems?

I use the 1.2v nimh batteries. I didn't experience any problem for the last 10 flight.

Had a problem this time. I crash my main blade again. But after the incident the motor, main gear and tail blade are spinning, but the main blade compoents are spinning very slow, looks like slipping. Do anyone know how to fix this problem. Is there any srew that I can tried tighten? Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem. Look for a screw on the white gear attached to the main shaft. Tighten it, and you will probably find the problem is fixed. Mine keeps coming loose every few flights (crashes).

Just got my serial cable sim from milehighwings and got my #36 Tx working with FMS. I downloaded the walkera model type and it bears a reasonable reseblance to the real thing in hover and forward flight. Also got a new 1700mah dualsky and 2000mah kokam and noticed that they make the heli much more responsive and flyable compared to the walkera supplied 2200mah battery....I guess it is the higher C rating. Worth the upgrade from my POV. Also did a bit of a paint job.....

I like how you did your antenna. What are you using to hold the antenna wire at the end of the tail fin?

I Finally got my dragonfly to fly. I boughht a decent charger and managed to get a full charge out of the battery. HOWEVER...Now that it flies...It took off straight up to 5 feet...Since it was slightly out of control and heading straight for me, I paniced and cut the throttle. Anyone know where I can buy a new boom? and flybar? and the clamp that holds the flybar on? Also one of the plastic posts that hold the canopy on to the body has broken off. Can this be replaced? I have still been flying it (low to the ground) but would like to get these items fixed.

Drilled a small hole thought the bottom of the tailfin and attached the aerial with a small rubber band. This way if anything snags hopefully the rubber band will break.

My charger is a ProPeak Prodigy II by Ripmax. I paid £53.99 for it. It does all the batteries...Li-Po,Li-Ion, NiCad, NiMh,Pb. It does not come with any charge leads though. Apparently "true" hobbyists make their own. I dont want to do the manual stuff. I just want to fly a heli. lol.

er i just got my brushless 3200kv motor but PROBLEM The pinion doesnt hold. the motor spins but the pinion isnt moving. the guys at my hobby store (308 hobbies) messured the shaft to be 1.9mm but i dont know if they did this with the "flat" side of the shaft.. so does any1 know where i can get a pinnion that can fit? also im working on a project., if the heli doesnt fly AT ALL im gonna make it into a cardboard jet [:D] already worked out the design and stuff i built a prototype. just need a prop.. ive checked, all the little parts work its very light(without electrics) and sure to fly.. should give at least 90mph.. but i dont have anywhere to fly it..
