hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/17/2008 8:58 PM)

at last got some time to work on the plane.

I replaced the bar of the wings by tubes and now I am in the process of fixing wings on the airframe...

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/19/2008 1:45 PM)

wings are now in place! I checked all angles and seems it is perfect.

will now fix the stabs in the coming days...

then at last I will be able to finish the airframe!

Looking good man!

You're a super hard worker, and I'm in complete admiration of your CNC homebrew and your F-22 project.

We are watching with great anticipation!

thanks for the link. Good Designs there. will be very helpful

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/26/2008 11:22 PM)

here we are!

wings, rudders, stabs....all fixed! now starting to work on the airframe again!

wing is now finished

how did you model the rib for the wings.

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/28/2008 7:25 AM)

what do you mean?

as you did in the beginning of your project. I was going to use a similar tactic to model my airfoils and design the interior for my project.

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/28/2008 11:10 AM)

well,

I am not sure to understand what do you mean. but my wing was design as a 3d volume, then CNC milled...

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (5/28/2008 8:28 PM)

some latest pics

acepilot121 -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (8/15/2008 9:44 AM)

any progress on the raptor?

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (8/15/2008 2:18 PM)

not at the moment...only little...did some work but messed it up so came backward lol....

Murdoc -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/16/2008 3:52 PM)

any progress? Love your build :D

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/16/2008 4:18 PM)

yes... at last there is some but don t have pics yet...will upload some later today.

I am now working weekly.

Murdoc -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/16/2008 8:40 PM)

Thats good:)
Looking forward to the pics!

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/16/2008 9:53 PM)

here are some pics.

as you can see I have redone the rudder with a better shape (still not finalized but almost).

the airframe still need plenty of sanding and filling. then I will be able to add some more shapes on it.

project is moving not very fast but surely will go till the end!

Murdoc -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/19/2008 12:17 PM)

I am absolutely amazed by your work and skills. That is just awesome!

bruce88123 -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/19/2008 5:23 PM)

Refresh me, it's been a long project. The fuselage so far is just a plug to make a mold from correct? And is that also the plan for the current wings and other flight surfaces? Like I said, a long project.

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/19/2008 5:38 PM)

yes it is a long very long project because I don t have much time to work on it since last 2 years...but I am now try to expedite the work.

wings, rudders and stabs are now final plugs ready for finishing but as I manipulate them a lot for building the airframe, I didn t wanted to go further now.

In the meantime I also built a test retract system and the fuel cells.

I lost tons of time due to the fact that my initial drawings for the back of the airframe was totally wrong so lost of cutting, sanding, filling, etc....

At last there as other reason for going slow but that will be disclosed in few months...[:D]

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (11/22/2008 4:30 PM)

hi guys...

just a little update after my week end....

did some sealing between wings, rudders, stabs and fuse...now it look much more clean!

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (12/14/2008 5:18 PM)

this week end I started to build the composite Oven which will cook my airplanes.

here is few shots of the status.

bela -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (12/16/2008 2:00 AM)

Hey Reno!

Glad to see that you are back to working the raptor and havent abandoned it for the "other" project.

I have more progress on my raptor gear. go here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7042677/anchors_8248931/mpage_2/key_/anchor/tm.htm#8248931

Slow Low -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (12/22/2008 1:03 AM)

Nice job with the oven! That should speed things up a little. Sure would like to see some more of that!

hpghost -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (12/22/2008 7:23 AM)

yeah...it is definitly required to achieve good quality composites....don t want to see the plane blasting in the air or becoming soft on the 80 deg runway!

bruce88123 -> RE: f22 raptor-rc work on progress! (12/22/2008 6:05 PM)

80 degree runway? Only flying on cool days?[:D]
