guys, i had broken my spring pin in an axle. in the manual, its. 2.5 x 12 mm.

my local shops don't carry anything DTX, but he had some HPI ones that size. when i got home. they totally didn't fit. these where alittle bigger.

i noticed a big difference in the HPI ones, cuz they are solid metal, as opposed to the hollow spring pins that were in there. i decided to simply drill the axle out so i can fit it, and it worked perfect and appears to be alot stronger. not bad for a $2.50 upgade and 10 minutes.
Later on driving that day, ofciurse the other stock spring pin broke.. i knew i should have upgraded both sides at the same time... i'll fix that one later.

just thought i give a heads up..

here a pic of it drilled out and on, and one of the solid pin. i can't do a side by side comparison, cuz the other is busted.. but you see the difference.

The exact motor you need to drop in an evader is an o.s. .18 cv-rx with the 11/J rotary carb. I have put one in my evader as well

Cool i am about to order a set too. I also just got a used .15 cv-rx to use in the evader i had to clean it up a lot and remove to stripped cooling head screws, but now all i need is a new head shim then i will have to let it rip.

I'd wait till I get my set installed before you order one, it might save you money if mine doesn't fit. Speaking of which, I have the shoes in my hand right now and they are very cool looking. I'll have them installed after I finish some chores I'm doing.

yeah i wish i could put a bigger engine in my evader like a .21 or bigger see how much faster i can get it to go. because it only goes about 35 stock(when i had it running) and i would like to get it to go like 50-60 w/ a new engine and a hole bunch of upgrades. could i make a custom mount and custom everything for it so it can fit?

there is an evader kicking round with a .21 in it. it took some modding, but it got in there. you need to cut the chassis to get it to fit i think.

Well a high reving small block and a custom clutch bell from dyno tech could push it that fast.
