quote:

you can either destroy the flywheel with a hammer and chisel, or make your life easy and buy a battery terminal puller for $20. I have found that is the ONLY way to take flywheels off, since they seize on the crank shaft.

I adjusted the CB placement by removing a shim from behind the CB bearing closest to the flywheel, then it fit in there perfectly and didn't hit the servo tray anymore.

Hey Doc, the puller worked great and made easy work of the flywheel. I did run across an issue with the BX CB, I don't have a shim in there where you suggested, only thing I saw under the CB was the front and rear bearing that the CB sits on and the little washer that is between the CB and e-clip that holds it all on. Am I missin something? From what I saw in there, the only option I had was to dremal away part of the servo tray to make it fit in there without rubbin. If it helps, I can post some pics of the situation. Thanks again.

hmmmm...... yea, if you don't have anyway to move the CB back, then a little dremel action on the radio tray should do it.

So, I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but I just found out. Apparently, the T-maxx/E-maxx rear shock towers bolt right up to the evader! The body mounting will need some custom work, but everything else drops right in! Saw some pics online already of a guy that did it; will be trying it myself soon.

This is great news, as the Maxx towers are much stronger.

I'm not paying 35$. I don't break the stock ones that often; the t-maxx ones, for just about a buck more, may solve the problem completely.

Actually that's not true. They're shorter than the evader ones. See for yourself! Note: I know that's an electric, but nitro shouldn't be an issue.

Doesn't look to be sitting high to me!!

Hey guys, this is a great forum. My interests lie more with r/c aircraft but my son was given a used Evader ST. with a .17 engine in it. I’m trying to help him get it started but we can’t seem to get it to go. The glow plug is good along with a new battery, and we have brand new fuel. The idle and high speed needle valves were taken out when he got the car. How many turns out is a good starting place for the needle valves for the .17 engine.
Hope to hear an answer soon.
