I'm using a Tru-turn prop-hub (#TTH-1500-B) with a backplate (#TTH-BP-1500-A). You have to specify to modify the backplate for the engine you are using.

Hey Guys, just wanted to throw this question out here to anyone that might be able to help. Although this isn't a forum on radials but just wondering if anyone here can give me some useful input. I'm curious about the Saito Fa-325 Radial engine, first if it would fit in our Jugs Cowling and second, what kind of performance can one expect it to produce for the 150 sized Jug. thanks for the advice in advance.

Hi courageous people,
I am at the retracts since two days...
- no 4-40 taps to find in Belgium, so I changed to metric, 3mm is OK;
- no JT servo to find in Belgium, so I changed to HS-75BB;
- need to file nice oval holes for screws of the servo;
- better to disassemble the retract BEFORE;
- no way to tap an oval hole ;o))
- countersinkink and using flat head 3mm screw is OK;
- no metal arm to find, but having goog friends helps;
- change ball and clevises to 3mm;
- file where needed to make it work...
- correct one scisor angle, force in the other direction...
- add a dedicated 6V battery, 4.8V seems to be short;
- add a reversing wye and connect to channel 9 of my FF9.
Honestly, air retracts are much more easy to implement.
May be somebody has replaced the servo with a cylinder...

Ramboman. Couple hints for you. Run the HS-75BB servos on 6v. This will increase effective torgue to about 115 oz. This will provide enough for good operation. If you use bigger wheels make sure they are treaded light wheels. Need set servo horn so gear will stay down position when turning radio on off. Diassemble retracts and burnishish all metal moving parts especially the copper bushing. This will loosen up the gear for better movement. Then grease all metal moving parts with high temp disc brake grease. Will last forever.

Thank you for your suggestions.
I use teflon oil (for weapons) and a dedicated 6V battery.
How do you set the servo horns?
When I shut power on the radio, the retract does not move any more...

Hello-

To any one with this model, can you please tell me what the overall diameter of the included static propeller is? Thanks in advance.

I have read this entire forum. I see where people are using G38 TO FLY THE P47, and have said it flies well, but have not said if it has enough power to do large loops, or how the vertical is. etc.. i want to fly faster than scale. Can anyone give me information on the G38. How about the Quadra 52? It flies my 1/5 scale P51 great. Would appreciate an answer.

There have been a few of us that have decided to use the DA 50 as a power choice. I believe that mine will handle it quite well and all you have to do is make some firewall mods and it fits perfectly. I figure that just becuase you have the extra power doesn't mean that you have to use it all the time. Just my two cents!

Thanks for the reply. I would still like to hear from someone who has tried the G38.
