Fifteen Min. after opening the box. Top two supplied engine mount holes matched Bennett Cup mount on G-38. Cup mount too thick, engine sticks out a little far. Flat plate mount, maybe spacers, and a little work to the fire wall will fix that. More later.

WLJ, I think I saw a spring starter on your G-38, am I correct? Try without it.

Gosh, I wished I had a FE 2.4 waiting for this babe. Well, I guess I'll have to go with my G-38.[]

For certain? Because that's what I was thinking about using. My LHS still hasn't gotten the plane in though.

Will the muffler fit too? If not, what is your plan?

It'll go. I may have to modify the Fire wall a little. I put a G-38 in the H-9 Mustang. I had to work on the firewall on that a little also.

Couple Hrs. later, home made plate mount, plywood spacers, modify firewall (nothing really structural) hard work done. Front of prop spool, 5 1/2 in. I'll box in the firewall cut out to keep heat out of Fuse.

What is everyone's thoughts on the method of attaching the elevator, aileron & rudder horns to the surfaces? The instructions say to drill, then fit screw, then remove again & soak the hole & surrounds with CA & then re-fit the screws. There is no hardwood or ply in these locations, only balsa from what I could feel by having a prod around with a pin on one of the elevators. My feeling is that I should cut in some ply plates to screw to. Has anyone out there used the suggested method & with what results?

Hmmmmm
I think I'll remove a square of covering about 1 1/2" square, use CA to scab a piece of 1/16 ply on both sides, replace the covering, drill and THEN soak those holes w/ more CA.
Does that sound like a plan?

Fitted the engine today, saito 180 with flex muffler extension (see pictures). Cowl fitted a treat, the removable fusalage hatch will not fit once the cowl is fitted. You have to make the slots longer on the fus. Also check the battery and reciever tray as mine was lose.

Alans

Looks like the slot is just missing a small amount can u just cut an angle on the Metal and make her fit?

Guy's

I had my buddy call Horizon Hobby this morning and they told him that no shipments have went out. I couldn't figure this out since everyone here is reporting them arriving. Well it gets better by the afternoon my buddy calls me back and tells me my P47 arrived..........

Go Figure

Guess what: I called Horizon this evening and have been told that "we have not received any shipments from our factory. We have not shipped out any airplanes, yet" After I told that guy that there are numerous people on RCU posting pictures of their building progress already he gave in and "admitted" that their were a very limited number of shipments made. Why this guy is even answering phonecalls is beyond me. There is no reason to lie to a customer. Especiakky if the customer is better informed than the sales person. Anyway I was told I would have to wait till April before I can even think about mine. I am not too happy about that.[>:]

Drive down to Roanoke Rapids. We've got another. Some dealers are part of a priority receive program.

It sounds like the folks on the phone need a little better training.

I know for certain that mine is a sneak preview. It's a program the hobby shop belongs to where they get an advance copy of whatever is new - even if they don't want it. I imagine you would have to be a busy hobby shop for that to work out in the long haul. My LHS thought he would see the other eight he has on order in three weeks. Hang in there. It looks like this plane will go together really fast once you get it.

Sorry for the confusion guys. I dont think our customer service person was trying to be dishonest. For some reason the information that we shipped these didnt get throughout the company. Its a downside to being a big company I guess. I'll let them know.

Yes, we shipped what we call the Fast Forward, which is essentially like described above. They however arent advanced copies of anything. Its just a program we have for dealers so they get the new products first if they are signed up for the program. Usually we have enough of a new product that we ship all orders shortly after the fast forward goes out. On this one, the rest of the orders will go out two or three weeks later.

But, the info you got isnt correct. It wasnt a very limited number went out. This model is out in big number now and though we are out of stock for a few weeks, is readily available at many LHS.
