Hellcat716 -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/22/2005 1:42:42 AM)

Chief Aircraft said late this month when I spoke to them yesterday.

lowbubba -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/22/2005 11:52:08 PM)

My local hobby shop said that they will be released from the warehouse on Nov. 20 to go for distribution. We will have to wait and see I guess.

davealv -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/24/2005 7:49:12 AM)

Hello Everyone, just a note on the release date. I was at the i hobby expo in Los Angeles, and took a look at the display model. Talked to the Horizon rep. and he informed me that they pushed the release date to Dec.!!!!

I'm not surprised!!! at this point it will probably be released in 2006!! I wonder what the big hold up is??? It may be all worth it if Hanger 9 found some design problems?? Has anyone heard of anything?

MMcConville -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/24/2005 4:34:29 PM)

They should be out in Dec. The delay is simply that our factory is very busy and got behind in some production. They are working as hard as possible to get caught up, but we dont want to sacrifice quality either. It should be out and availabe before 2006.

Tweet -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/24/2005 4:55:02 PM)

I hate to get the first batch of anything if I can help myself (airplane, car, etc.). Should be a nice one when it does come out though.

johnnylwhite -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/26/2005 5:39:39 PM)

Well......it's official......the website now states "Mid December".....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Tweet -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (10/26/2005 5:57:03 PM)

Just in time for Christmas...'06. Looks like a neat airplane, well worth the wait.

I'm starting to get control of my emotions and think more rationally about this fighter. And I'm wondering if I really want to buy one of the first models out the door. Maybe I'll get that CMP Hellcat I've been wanting, and let you guys work out the bugs on the Jug.

Now it looks like it will be January. Oh, well. Nothing under the tree for me

pettit -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/10/2005 3:54:29 PM)

Don't forget about "Little Christmas".

Epiphany, or January 6th.

p39 -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/10/2005 4:14:34 PM)

Well- if that's considered "early January" I may be in luck! Otherwise- let's see... I could always love myself enough to get a Valentine's Day gift for me.

AirplaneMan04 -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 4:57:42 PM)

What a joke, they should stop advertising this P-47 all together. The Hangar 9 .60 size was out
only one month after it was advertised. Nothing like getting a guys hopes up for a good
winter project. Next it will be late Jan, then early feb. Tower hobbies did this to me with a
Futaba 9c synthesized module for my radio. It took over one year to get it. Just like
Hangar 9, it was "end of Oct." then Mid Nov. so on so forth then i finally recieved it
about 3 weeks ago. They should have just dropped it off the website all together.
I think i will get a yellow aircraft or aerotech p-47 and put it together. I definitely can do
that sooner than it would take to get an arf in stock LOL

pettit -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 5:51:22 PM)

It does no good to tell us about this.

It's like preaching to the choir.

Tell the manufacturer!

BadLemon -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 9:01:05 PM)

I'm sure Mike McConville is monitoring this thread. A couple of threads back I forcasted that the kit may not be out til 2006 and he replied promptly. That the kit would be out before 2006. I'm sure he will let us know what is going on.

p39 -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 9:03:36 PM)

All I know it that Horizon's site now says early January. Probably a good thing. I've got two other planes coming in December....

BadLemon -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 9:30:43 PM)

p39 Two other planes!!! [X(]man you must have a lot of extra time on your hands!!! I only have time to build one over the winter. [:'(]I envy you. Wait you know what I hate you!!! [:@] Just kidding[:D]I would love to have time to build like that. Good luck and have fun with your builds.

p39 -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 10:00:47 PM)

Well- that's just the start. I've also got two American Eagle P-51 b's to build. One for me and one for a guy in TX. And then there's the Bates B-26 I started last winter. My shop is a whole building dedicated to airplanes. 4 workbenches.... surround sound, microwave, coffee maker, fridge... no phone or internet. Or recliner. Best thing it's a half block away from my house.

jetfreak -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 10:12:22 PM)

Aerotech P-47 , guys not to change the subject or anything but i noticed that one of the previouse post where a gentleman stated he would look into getting a yellow or aerotech. Can someone explain to me why the aerotech is 3000.00 (2895.00) Well 3k by the time shipping is done with you. For a Yellow kit you would pay ROUGHLY around 1000 or so... for all the bells and whistles. I am primarily a jet guy and I have seen yellows work on two of there JET KITS (f-16, starfire) and was really impressed.

am I missing something here.

Thanks......

BadLemon -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 10:14:19 PM)

STOP!!!!! Your Killing Me!!!!! [:D] Hay how about taking some pic's of your shop I would like to see it and I'm sure others as well!!!

BadLemon -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 10:22:42 PM)

Jetfreak

Have you gone to Aero-techs web site. There kits comes complete with everything. And it is close to an ARF model. They claim you can build there kit in about 60 hours not including paint thou. I pickup one of there VHS tape on the P-47 they are awsome!! But I just can't afford it.

jetfreak -> RE: New 81" P-47 ARF coming from Hangar 9 (11/11/2005 10:55:02 PM)

BadLemon,

That is part of the reason I asked. I looked at the kit contents, and requires just about the same amount of building as yellow's. Except with yellow you have to fibreglass the wings, horizontal & elevator, and rudder. That seems to be about the biggest difference i can tell. Now I am also noticing there fuselage and wings are showing Panel lines and rivot detail as well.. WHICH YELLOW IS LACKING. But with yellow kit.... about 1100 will get you retracts, struts, retract valve, air tank, lines, retractable tail wheel assm, scale cockpit. I guess it personal choice. I am noticing that you get a few extra things from aerotech that you don't get from yellow like...Cowl Chin Duct divider,Fuel tank,Motor Mount,hinges, stuff like that.... BUT NOT A 1500-2000 difference...

I GUESS I AM JUST NOT SEEING THE COST DIFFERENCE VALUE.

thanks
sean

A big discerning factor could be that the Aerotech kit is molded entirely in carbon fiber...and I don't mean just C/F reinforcement of a glass fuse. Wayne's kit's are top notch by any standard, and the price reflect's in this.
