OK, we now have high speed Wi-Fi at the field. This rocks.

Here is a little series of F-100 photos of the F-100 from the Hong Kong Team. Flown in open class by Alex Lau

Guys,

The world could learn a lesson from this picture. This is Iran, England and Dubai watching the Israeli team fly. Note that they are wearing Israeli team caps and cheering the team when they make a good flight maneuver. Seriously, how many other sports does this happen in.

We don't care about politics here... It is all about people enjoying their hobby and lending everyone a helping hand.

We had a couple of nasty crashes today.

My favorite plane, and the second highes static scoring plane is gone. The gorgeous L-39 from Russia was lost to flutter and crashed and burned. Not a single item survived. Truly sad.

An L-159 was lost when the pilot lost orientation and the plane flew away. The pilot is sitting here amidst the wreckage and looking lost

John,

This picture is TRULY a prize winner! This picture shows that if we as a world looked for things we have in common with our fellow man versus the things we find different, then the world will be a better place!!!

You are both correct. The current leading model in individual is the new Airworld Hawk (Red Arrows scheme) flown by Tommy Gleissner.
Stephan Voelker's White / red Hawk is the one you are referring to.

Hi John,

have you seen how many hits this threads had !! that`s got to be a record - havn`t done much work this week been to busy looking at your superb photos.Keep up the good work. Say hello to Tom Wilkinson (flightline director supremo) if you get a chance from all his flying buddies here at the South Norfolk Model Flying Club here in stormy England - Thanks for the nice shots of Tom`s little hairy legs a few posts back (Bryce landing the F5) He wont live that down - we keep telling him to put his legs away!

Thanks again for the stunning photos

all the best

Well, I am afraid I have more bad news...

Sung Kim just lost his magnificent Panther. That makes 3 world class models lost today. We where entering our last maneuver, the slow flight pass. This maneuver is entered with full flaps, gear down, canopy open, retractable tail skid lowered and flown at few clicks over landing speed. (Judges wants to see the nose high). Right at the end of the maneuver, the top hatch blew off. In this draggy configuration, low and slow and with the time it takes the turbine to spool up, Sung did not have a chance. The plane spun in and was completely destroyed.

Fortunately, Sung is in good spirit. It was a real bummer, but this is the price we pay in this hobby. Every model has an expiration date. This one was just too soon.

Well, the show must go on.

Airworld did a little demo flight today with their Cougar. Closely related to the Panther, but with swept wings and tail.

Looks great in this high visibility paint scheme.

The day started out hot and humid, but it is cooling down now. Tonight is the "Nations Night" which primarely is about which country can drink most alcohol. We may need a few extra drinks tonight to wash down what happened today.

Contestants get ready in front of the static hangar. The planes are weighed inside after the flight, and in the morning, the building provides much needed shade.

The old MIG at the field is full of bullet holes. Combat damage??? Probably not. Most likely target practice.

The BVM F-100 from Hong Kong is so pretty that it deserves to be shown from another angle.
