Hey... i recently finished my homemade clod chassis. I havent tested it yet as I just JB welded the diffs today, so tomorrow will be the test day. This is my first time making a custom chassis so let me know what you think. Post any suggestions or comments...
Made from a street sign. 1/4-20" allen key screws 3" long, 1/4-20" lock nuts. 4-40 allen key screws 1.5 or 2" long, 4-40 lock nuts, aluminum tubing, brass tubing for top link mounts mounted with body clips. Let me know what you think....
Some specs:
WB - 18.5" but adjustable to be longer or shorter which will increase or decrease the center ground clearance. Ground Clearance - 5.5"

no.. it isnt 4WS... but I have all the parts needed.. i just need to install them and put in a servo and Y harness or go with a 4 channel radio like my TLT...

It looks like you'll get plenty of travel that way. I like the way the side plates of the chassis look, it appears to sort of contain all the electronics and add some protection. Sweet.

I changed the rear link ball cups to traxxas ball cups because I broke one and the store didnt have that same size... all i need now is some type of skidplate... Im thinking of plexi-glass or something... maybe some eavestrough and cut it to size then use the chassis strengtheners (the large bolts near bottom) to bolt it on... I also need some lathe motors because with my 3000 and 3300 batteries.. i only get about 15 mins of runtime...
I will post some pics of articulation soon and some other pics of "just on the rocks"

yeah... its got some crazy articulation...
I had to move the upper links because the axle was on an angle and the motor kept getting stuck... I then tested it and could crawl up a 5 step staircase... it was awesome...
Instead of moving the links, i could have made longer ones.. but the hobby shop is closed (of course). i still may make longer links and take out the method i have now... although it is extremely capable... but I think it will be the same with longer links instead of an aluminum extension...
