Hello Aerotech. Glad you finally got a support forum as I have heard really good thing about the aircraft you sell. I have got an issue with all the new Yaks coming out. Between you, EF, BME, TOC and the KMP/Ebay Yaks, there is plenty to chose from. I have narrowed my decision down to the Aerotech Yak and the BME Yak. I really like the color scheme on your plane. And when I say really like, I mean that I dont think I could have dreamed up a better scheme. Basically I want to know what to expect weight wise. I know It says 16 pounds on the website, but I dont know what equipment was used in it. What could I expect weight wise if I used say a DA 50 (average weight for a 50cc) a single 2200 Li-ion on reciever and Ignition and lightweight accesories. Could I get it in the Sub 15.5 pound range. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for the compliment on our products. We try very hard. Our Test Yak had the following:

DA50 w/K&S header with flex connector and a Pefa cannister
24oz Tank
Fromco Batterys with regulators
Rudder 8611a
Hitech 5945's
Futaba reciever and switch's
Dubro wheels

Weight RTF 16.65lbs

I think 15.5 is light with the size of the plane. At our weight, it performed awesome as the video shows. I hope this helps and we look forward to serving you.

Thanks

John

Thanks for the information. I will be running a stock muffler, so I should be able to save a 1/2 pound or so over the cannister. I would also probably order or make a carbon fiber gear for it mainly because I love the look but also save a couple ounces. Also maybe save a couple more with a carbon wing tube. But then again I may keep the aluminum gear for durability issues. But other than that that is bassically how mine will be setup. I just want the best flying plane possible, and the lighter, the better. From the information I have gathered though, this seems to be a little better plane than the BME. I will place my order for one in the morning. Thanks again for the help.

I placed my order for the Yak. I got an engine and battereis on the way. I was just wondering what hardware comes with the plane, if any? And also what size pushrods will I need. I either gonna run the H9 Titanium prolinks or carbon rods with titanium ends to save a little weight here and there. I'm gonna run an MVVS 45 magnesium case with a pipe and try to have the plane weigh in at under 16 pounds. Actually Im gonna try to hit 15.5, but running a pipe that may be harder to do. Anyway Im looking forward to recieving this plane.

Hello,

The kit comes with a Ins. Panel, control horns, tailwheel assy, hinges, all the nuts bolts etc. You need to get wheels, axles, fuel tank, tubing etc. minor stuff left to get.

Thanks
John

I'm thinking of running smoke on mine with my DA-50 and would like to use a cannister. What is the prochedure for smoke with cannisters? Should the nipple be installed in the header just in front of the cannister?
