My UltraRC Yak-54
I was looking at your photo, The first one, the close up of your engine, It look like you have your engine servo mount on the fire wall? If so, how did you connect your thor. cable? Can you show some photo how you did it?
I'm putting a Satio 100 in mine.

Hey, you can e-mail them what the cost would be, or if there is a dealer in the U.K.

Lil chinky

Flair inport the YAK from China into the UK, Ultra inport into the USA.

The Pic below shows how I arranged my servos to give Ailivators ie independant elevator response as ailerons, also full closed loop linkages used, this is my second YAK my first one I crashed by my own volition my fault, a high aspect ratio wing llike the one on the YAK will tip stall if you pull too much elevator too quick, this is not a fault, but is how you get an extreamly manouverable aerobatic aircraft, you make it unstable.

Hi Mike, That a neat setup you got there! As you know the throttle servo, there not much room to get your hands in there and srew the sevro down, did you mount the sevro there, or some other place? If so in other place, can you post a photo of where you put it?
I'm thinking of putting it on the fire wall, with the engine, what engine are you useing? I'm going with a Satio 100.
Thanks
Dennis

On my first YAk I mounted the servo at the top of the fus just by gluing it there, this was required to make a decent job of the push rod allignement due to using a four stroke (OS70) which incidently was over powered. Satio 100 I think you are asking for lots of torque rolling tendancies on throttle with that one.

In this one I'm using a JEN 56 two stroke with a pitts silencer to keep the cowl neat, being a two stroke the carb is in such a position that the standard mount works, I did not have a problem getting the screws in just used a very long screwdriver, so it all depends on your carb position.

This aircraft is not an easy 3D machine it will bite if you let it get the better of you, but its snap manouvres are the best i'v seen or ever done, they are so quick, I did perfect with my first YAK a climbing snap roll, that was inpressive, just dont overdo the elevator movement or slow it up too much on landing, I also have reinforced the undercarridge area with carbon tows as a bit of a preventive measure, I thought it was a bit fragile for our grass strip.

Mike, Thanks for the photo. maybe I'll try a longer sevro arm for the thor. link to clear the fuel tank. I don't think I'll try 3D with it, I have a Jap. Zero and it will snap too, with to much elev. too! On your control, on the low side, did you go by the book? On the CG where did you set yours? I'm planing starting at the 80mm and see how it gose from there.

Very wise not to try 3D with this, its not designed for it, smooth aerobatics are the thing with the YAK, mind you I could prop hang, but not the high alpha manouvres that typify 3D. I,v got a Weston Hype for that.

BTW the pic shows the throttle push rod in its outer passing just by the tank. I always try to get any connection as straight as possible. Controls set at recommended on the Elevator but larger on the aileron and maxed out on the rudder, but I do like my aircraft livly, cofg at 85mm in the middle of the recommended.
