You guys were talking earlier about the pushrods.......

If they are the same as what is in the 4*40 then the carbon fiber impregnated goldenrods will fit inside the housing perfectly so you could ptentially change them later

Nice covering job on that ultimate, errr sig! I like the glass trick i havent tried that.

Sweet looking job. I was thinking about a Sig 120 for my next plane. This inspires me. Great job.

I was wondering on the covering, did the base coat bubble any when you applied heat to the top coats?

By covering the tail feather Assembly do you just continue the mono from the stab to the rudder to close the gap?

Well, I did it last night. I picked up a 4*60 and a TT 91 four stroke to go with it. Now, I have to keep it hid from the wife until his birthday in Jan.....

well Im finally back to the four star. This project is taking forever!!! Ive been out of town for a couple of weeks, but Im back now. So back to getting this thing done. Hope to get it done by christmas day.

got the radio gear installed in the fuse. Note the extra rod on the rudder servo. This rod goes to a post that goes up thru the cockpit floor. This rod will attach to my pilot. When the rudder moves so does my pilot.

I used some wet-dry sandpaper for the cockpit floor.

this is the post that is attached to the rudder servo. My pilot will look left or right when the rudder is utilized. Its a goofy mod that really is not needed but hey what the hell.

looks great Downwind. I like the pilot moving with the rudder idea. I never would of thought of that. I've got a Saito 56 I'm ready to drop in my 4 Star 40. Question, What did you use to fuel proof the engine area? Show us a pic of the whole plane when you get her done. JT

i used 30 min. epoxy thinned with alcohol for fuel proofing. I like the natural wood look. You could also put some paint in the epoxy for a colored look.

got the canopy installed. I used screws to hold it down then put stripe tape around the edge. That way i could get into the cockpit later if my pilot comes loose.

Pilot is installed. the pushrod to rudder servo works great. the pilot moves about 45 degrees to the left and right when i use the rudder.

The pilot is a profile pic of me. Its my plane so I should fly it

I trimmed the canopy a whole lot. I took about 1 1/2" off the back and took about 1" off of the front. This makes the canopy not stick so far up in the air. The untrimmed canopy looked like a big ol bubble

Looking good! I might steal your operating pilot idea....giving you full credit of course!

Thought you might like to See the Fiberglass specialty's cowl that is available for the 4* 60!

Mark
