He did some impressive flying with it

Yep, right into the wall. LOL!

Well, it was all good up to that point! For some reason that wall eats AeroCats for lunch!

But really, you flew very smooth and precise (until the end). Much better than I would do indoors, that's for sure. Thanks for showing what an AeroCat can do.

Hi...

Love the looks of this plane. I am wondering if there is any chance of getting a .pdf copy of the instruction manual so I could read through it?

Can anyone tell me if one of the Great Planes ElectriFly Park Flyer Brushless Power Systems would be a good choice for the Aerocat? Looks like there is a Rimfire motor on the one in Real Flight Expansion Pack 2.

They can be viewed here:

John,

I just looked over the Rimfire motors and the 28-26-1600 would be good with a 6/5.5 or 7/5E prop. Also, I have flown the Park 370 (1370kv) and it is good. But there are faster, less expensive choices on my website. The Spin Max 2212-6 or 2212-10 are both great choices. 2212-10 for 1000 to 1320 batteries, and the 2212-6 for ultimate speed with a larger pack in the 1500 to 2100 range. Also, the LittleScreamers ParkJet motor is great for a light weight set-up. That's what we were flying indoors at the E-Fest.

Of course, in RealFlight it has a Rimfire motor. Imagine that!

I'll see about emailing the instructions to you. But, the AeroCat and AeroSport are as simple a build as you will find. 9 pieces of foam!

Galloping Ghost...I've been flying planes about 2 months and flew a IFO MkIII the other day for the first time and had a blast once I got the hang of elevon flying. Would it be easy for me to fly the AeroSport or the Mig? or do you recommend I wait? I've been flying Helis for about two years. I'm looking to order one this week.

The AeroSport and Mig are pretty easy flying planes. The AeroSport in particular can fly very slowly. I would say if you're flying helis and an IFO you'd be good to go, especially if you flown planes on the sim.

Let me know if you need more info on the right motors, etc for the planes.

Scott...Thanks for the fast response. Here's my configuration question:

I have about three Hitec 65s,a 35A Align ESC and 5 Thunder Power 11.1v 2070mAh 25C/50C and 1 Thunder Power 11.1v 2100mAh 15C/20C.

What motor do you recommend? I like the AeroSport alot, but the Mig has an enclosed compartment for the electronics.

Can you or someone post a pic of the AeroSport's bottom showing where the electronics are situated and mounted? That will help me make my decision.

Thanks to anyone and all in advance for your response and advice.

It looks like you have primarily bigger batteries, which means you could use any of the motors we offer. I would recommend the Spin Max 2212-6 or the 2212-10. The 2212-6 is great on the APC 6/4E or 6/5.5E and the 2212-10 is great on the APC 7/5E.

The 2212-6 is going to give you the highest performance. The recommended motor for the Mig is the Dualsky 2826CA-12T which is the same performance as the 2212-10 but is more expensive, and maybe a bit higher quality. I offer the Dualsky because it is what the Mig-29 manufacturer recommends. The 2212-10 offers the same performance.

Here's a pic of the AeroSport bottom with radio gear. This one has a rudder servo, so the standard elevon only set-up will be even cleaner.

Scott...What two planes would you recommend? Between the AeroCat, AeroSport and the Mig-29. You guessed it, I'm buying two. Also if I purchase on-line tonight (I'm in Maryland), how soon do estimate the arrival.

Can you specify the motors as well? I will be buying one as a combo as I only have one ESC (Align 35A). Keep in mind I'm a novice to some degree.

I just ordered two planes from ModelAero, yep I ordered two. I couldn't decide which one I wanted more so I got both the AeroCat and the AeroSport. Scott's customer service was A+++++. Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly in answering all my questions and I had a lot of questions. Kudos to Galloping Ghost. I can't wait to begin my quick build.

Once I'm finished, which do think I should fly first?

Thanks TB. It was nice speaking with you on the phone. I think you'll be pleased with both the planes!

Your order is ready to go out tomorrow.

I always encourage pilots to call if you can't find the info you need on the Model Aero website, or if you have questions about the right motor, battery etc. Our phone number is on the homepage of the website. Best time to reach me is 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST.
