I like to built the airplanes I fly.
I would like to built this airplane as light as possible. I selected a BME110, of course I will install CF Landing gear and CF wing tube, lightweight tires, etc.

Where are the areas where I can safely cut weight down on this kit?

Can I modify the turtle deck foam for a built up turtle deck? what about the belly foam? Any suggestions to reduce weight on the wings?

Hello,

The only thing with using a BME is the engine weight. Its so much lighter that causes a balnce challenge. Stock weigh is 27-28lbs RTF with a DA100 or 3W106. Using a BME you have tomove alot up front and be mindful when building the stabs to keep the rear light.

Thanks

John

Jhon

The weight is my major concern since I am planning to fly at 6000-7000' of elevation.
I will replace the LG and wing tube by CF, lightweight tires, and all that good stuff, however I would still like to know how can I lighthen the airframe.
If you have any advices, this is the right time, let me know.
By the way has anybody reported 23 lbs ?

Thanks

Hello,

A very good customer in Vegas averages 26lbs and with a his 106's at 2500 elev. Its unlimited and one customer in Ca made 25lbs. I think for the size plane 23lbs will not be a weight it could make. I hope this helps with your decision.

Thanks

John

Hello,

Just depends on the builder. Lots of options when you build it yourself.

Thanks

John
