Thanks for the compliment Our little club hosts a fun fly once a year at the local airport here and we receive great support from the region. I can get the specs for you but I do know it is a Pica 5th scale Sptifire....I'll fire out an email to the owner and shall post the specs once I get them.

The owners brother had a 5th scale Hurricane there and they flew together....what an awesome show and like you said, you could easily imagine the sound of the Merlin engine. The Hurricane had a retract break and the left side would not lock down or go up so it was belly landed into the grass (see picture) with not so much as a prop breaking!!

That's funny that you mentioned the mishap. I, habitually look at the attachments prior to reading the text. As I lookat at the third shot coming in for a landing, I immiatelt thought - uh, oh! That lamding gears not all the way down. Sure enough, next shot - glad there was some deep grass. Good stuff guy

The Pilot of the Hurricane was in a perfect attitude for a careful landing with the damaged Gear. Kudos should also go to the Photog for capturing the shot that. You can see exactly how the Flaps are out and grabbing that air for every last bit of lift and although we can't tell exactally how fast it is flying with the assumption that it isn't gaining altitude and in fact loosing it because he is landing, you can see how much "bite" the elevator is getting with the amount of deflection it has.
