This is one of 6 bipes that I have....it's an OMP Boxxer, it weighs about 4 1/2 lbs with a Saito 82, APC 15x4w prop and DS 821 servos. This is a 3D bipe and is great for harriers, hovering, knife edge loops and a bunch of other maneuvers that I'm not good at. I get about 25-30 minutes of flying time off of one tank. I fly under half throttle most of the time and it needs little runway to takeoff and land. The patch near the engine is where the throttle used to be.

First post. Its been a long time coming. I started this Proctor Jenny (JN-4c) about ten years ago. And its maiden flight was about two weeks ago. Its done as the "Spirit of Edmonton" which hangs at the entrance of the Renolds Museum in Wetaskawin, Alberta. It has a Saito 80 and is painted with Sig dope.

Outstanding airplane Danno, at first I thought it was full-size.

I'm still a few weeks away from my first biplane flight, restoring a 45-yr old model of the Great Lakes 2T-1A. Just installing the flying wires and fuel system, then she flies.

Welcome to RC Universe!

Dave

Here is my latest build. Scratch built from my own plans. It statred with a BME 115 but had too much power so I put on a 3W-60.

Here are a few short videos of the Caproni Bomber. I said I would post them if I found them:

Caproni Startup

THe little Saito 30s are so quiet the prop noise almost drowns them out.

Caproni Take Off

Not a very scale like take off. Too much power. (This is video of the second flight)

Scale-like take-off or not, that Caproni is incredible!! Such a rare plane to build, it's truly a pleasure to see it fly.

Thanks a million for finding those videos, they were definitely worth it.

Geez, had to go back and REALLY take a look at your GL. That's one BIG bird, looks like a "C" model to me, but I might be totally off on that.

Just how big is that critter, and what's under the cowl?

Here's my latest. My dad finished the scratch-built Pitts and I've got one flight on it now. It's got a supertigre 2300 with a pitts muffler swinging an 18x8 wood prop. The blue one is a Sig Ultimate profile that he just finished. it's got a 72 Saito with a 13x6. Tried to maiden it this morning but a broken throttle rod put the kabosh to that. Will try again next week.

Well y'all, she's done and almost flew on 22 June (original post #314, page 13).

She's too heavy with not enough power to swing the 11x6 prop at full RPM, but we can take care of that. Going to trade the OS .40 with my Fox .45, that'll spin the prop. Also need to route out more of the wood in the engine compartment (there's a lot there) which will take care of 2 problems at the same time (plane's weight and CG too far forward).

The good news is that she tracks straight as an arrow, the fuel system works perfectly (all inside the cowl - thought I might have problems starting the engine) and the remote glow-plug connections work perfectly.

Anyway, pics below of her first time in public.

Here is mine, started 5 years ago, got waylaid and finally finished. It is the Great Plains Giant Aeromaster. Powered with Quadra 72cc, weighs 19 pounds dry, wing volume loading is 6.9 and flys very well. Covered with Ozcover on wings, Rhino hide on fuse and tail. Still remains to be painted. Just made the check flights to make sure all is well. Using Futaba Futaba 6EX 2.4GHz. PS where can I get any more Oz Cover, I hear it is no longer available?

Hey, for you guys that have Sig Hog Bipes, I just got one. It is already finished and is beautiful. It has never flown. A guy built it and just sold it without flying it and he did an incredible job of building it. The quesion that I have for you, it where is the recomended COG? Looked on Sig's website, Tower hobbies, and all over the internet before it dawned on me that this would be the best place to look.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
