Status: online 		I have a Hitec Optic 6 (from the first or second batch to hit US stores) and after a friends locally (New Zealand) purchased Optic developed the Flash memory problem, I suspect that it's only a matter of time before mine also fails in this way.

Hitec USA have stated that they won't honor their warranty for goods purchased in the USA but used elsewhere in the world so I'm wondering how much would it cost to have it repaired by Hitec USA outside the terms of the non-existant warranty?

ie: how much (over and above shipping costs) to have the manufacturing or design fault that causes this problem fixed if I have to pay for it?

Status: offline 		First of all, there is no certainty that the problem will show up as you indicate. It only has happened in a small percentage of units. If you do choose to send it in Hitec will be happy to update it at no charge but you will need to pay for the shipping both directions.

my optic 6 is having trouble keeping its model memory. Is there a way to fix this problem.
